The shower rooms are men/women. Do take a shower before you get in the water ad bring some water shoes to wear to the water's edge. This warm water spa features indoor and outdoor areas with varying temperatures. Start inside and work your way outside. I don't recommend staying in for more than two hours or your body will turn into a prune. Take a quick shower afterwards to get the mineral water out of your hair and body.

We thought it meant it would be packed but for the most part it was a good amount of people. The amount of saunas and Dampfbads is really good and the temperature range didn't disappoint. The place is a literal maze to walk through, which brings mixed reviews. Everywhere you go is themed which is cute. Downfalls: more showers and hair dryers in the bathroom would be nice. More places to lay down, or someone checking that people aren't hogging the daybeds the entire time just by throwing their towels down. But all in all, not the best I've been too but would definitely go again.

I visited twice during my week in Stuttgart. The first time I used both the swimming baths and sauna area (on 2nd visit, sauna was female only. Check before visiting). Sauna area is nude. Something I've never experienced before but quickly became used to it. Make sure you check the 'ausguss' timetable in the sauna area for when you can take part in the ritual of having red hot steam blasted into your face by a towel twirling attendant (more fun than it sounds). Swimming area is not nude and has a brilliant outdoor section with a small, fast flowing lazy river. I visited both Leuze and Canstatt mineral baths during my time in Stuttgart and in my opinion, Leuze has the best sauna area but Canstatt has the best and more modern swimming area. Definitely worth a visit during your time in Stuttgart and I hope I can come back one day.

Obwohl ich das sofort gemeldet habe, wurde ich an der Rezeption sofort abgewiesen. Keine Kulanz, keine Lösungsvorschläge - nur ein Konversation welche man mit "Pech gehabt" zusammenfassen konnte und die Forderung, die 40 € zu zahlen. Das restliche Personal war freundlich und verständnisvoll, aber die Person an der Rezeption war direkt in Abwehrhaltung und hatte eine merkwürdige Art. Ein bisschen mehr Kundenorientierung hätte ich mir gewünscht. Neben der schlechten Erfahrung ist das auch eine fragwürdige Geschäftsentscheidung. Ich habe in der Vergangenheit mehrfach Gutscheine für Ihre Therme als Geschenk gekauft, doch nach dieser Erfahrung werde ich weder wiederkommen noch erneut Gutscheine kaufen. Auf lange Sicht verliert die Therme damit weit mehr Geld, als wenn sie in solchen Fällen kulanter handeln würde. Auch nach schildern der Situation über die Info-Email wird darauf behaart, dass ich das Geld nicht zurückerstattet oder gutgeschrieben bekomme.

Oh my! What an experience!…read more This is a perfect palm paradise. Swimming pool/spa/sauna extravaganza. But I must say right now that most of it is nude. There are several different packages you can buy. Just the pool (textiles) or the vital thermen which includes pool, sauna, spa (textiles free). We opted for this. It cost €29 (+€3 extra as was bank holiday/weekend). You are given a watch like wrist band which enables you to enter certain areas. When entering, there is a sign in German which roughly translates to 'you must remove your textiles now (also no phones or photos after this point)'. Okay, drop the bathing suits, and after a few minutes of feeling a bit coy, you can release your inner mermaid and take pride in your body as everyone else around you is also in the nude! There is a bar in the pool. You can get cocktails, you can get coffees and drink them in the pool! Three glasses of prosecco please! You use your watch wrist band to pay for these - it tallies what you've spent and you pay at the end when you leave - very clever. The inside is amazing, albeit a little tacky. Huge palm trees surround all the many pools, along with plastic orchids! Lots of jacuzzi's and bubble streams. You can swim outside, it was freezing and raining, but so nice and warm under the water. I could imagine it being amazing if it were snowing, or equally in the sun. There are about 7 or 8 different saunas to choose from. From 60 degrees, up to 90 degrees. Japanese theme, Finnish, Moroccan, Viennese. All sorts. They also have infusionists shows. We saw a guy dressed like Mozart waft a towel around in the sauna. There was also a cinema sauna which was playing nature documentaries. Nothing like sitting in a sauna full of naked strangers watching armadillos trying to mate! There is a salt pool which has so much salt in it you literally float like in the Dead Sea. There is also a calcium-lithium pool which is good for your bones and wellbeing. We put our 'textiles' back on and went to the other pool and bar and enjoyed a pina colada in the jacuzzi. Just perfect!

Access to the hotel is easy and reception staff are friendly and quick. Rooms are reasonably spacious, clean and in good condition. The hotel, being on the edge of town, is quiet. A lift provides access to the various floors. A table in the restaurant is allocated to you, so for both breakfast and dinner (for those on half-board) you can go straight to your table without waiting to be seated. The quality of food served to those on half board is very good, with a soup, salad (from the extensive buffet), choice of mains and dessert. A once-weekly treat for meat lovers is the "grill evening" where the main course is replaced by a grill-buffet (of a very high standard). Service in the restaurant is quick (even on busy nights) and very friendly. Breakfast consists of an extensive buffet offering various cheeses and an array of cold meats (including fine Schwarzwälder Schinken, naturally), yoghurts, preserves, fruits juices and a wide selection of bread and rolls. The cafe (with terrace) offers coffee and cake from lunchtime onwards. Spa and sauna facilities are extensive and modern with a humorous Black Forest twist in the form of the "tree-house sauna". Further renovations of the reception and bar area are planned. Location-wise, the hotel sits at the top end of Tonbach, just up the valley from the Traube Tonbach. The area has extensive walking, hiking and cycling routes with extremely well marked paths and routes. The hotel also makes an excellent base for gourmets visiting the world famous restaurants of the town of Baiersbronn, in particular the "Schwarzwaldstube" which is only 100m away. In summary, this is an excellent family run hotel - ideal for a relaxing spa stay or for those seeking the exercise of walking / hiking / cycling or for gourmets.
