I also had a London Fog which was creamy and not overly sweet. The decor is very home-y and inviting and they have a selection of vinyls you can listen to. I walked by on a Saturday evening and they were hosting some live music. There are a couple small tables outside as well. Gotta love the "Kindness Wall" where you can pay it forward and buy a coffee or leave a dollar amount (like a gift certificate) and someone else can use it. They also had a photography exhibit while I was there. It definitely feels like a local hangout kind of place and I would definitely be a regular if I lived here!

Anyone can learn how to make a great French press. Espresso should be reserved for people willing to invest in learning how to pull a good shot. Anyways, it's a shame. (I know their names...that says something right?) 2. Drinks (my favourites being the Latte and Chai latte) - always well-made, never burn the milk, and tasty, strong coffee. 3. Treats - to die for, you MUST try the cheese scones, they are even better than Mum's (sorry Mum). Second on my list Nanaimo bars. VERY rich - I suggest sharing one between two... Honeybeans, I'm addicted to you. Note: Closed on Tuesdays, but if you're desperate for coffee on a Tuesday, Sweet Harvest is just across the road and up a bit.

We then make the brief circuit, admiring the pastries, cookies and bread, putting them in our baskets then paying the friendly staff. Today I bought both ginger and blueberry scones, raspberry cream danish, pain au chocolate, a rolled croissant with house made Mandarin marmalade, and a big sourdough loaf. Cash or checks only! You'll be hooked like me.

Stayed at the hotel that shares the space with this restaurant, so it was the natural choice for…read moredinner. We were seated within about 15 minutes of arriving around 6:50pm -- so far so good. But then it took 20 minutes just to be brought menus, another 15 minutes before anyone came back to take our drink order, and a further 20 minutes after that before our food order was finally taken. The food itself didn't arrive for another 30 minutes after that. By the time we'd eaten and left, it was 9pm -- over two hours for a fairly simple dinner. And after all that, the food was mediocre -- we paid around $50 for it. The one genuine positive was the view of the water, which was stunning. Lubec is a long way out of the way for most people -- the appeal is being the easternmost point in the US, with genuinely lovely scenery. But that's exactly what makes this frustrating: this restaurant knows most visitors are here once, won't be back, and have limited other options nearby. It's hard not to feel like that's being taken advantage of rather than earning the visit. Wouldn't rush back, and if I were traveling through again, I'd look elsewhere.
