Avoid at all costs!!…read more The blinds were incorrectly measured and badly fitted. Had to wait another week before the original work agreed was even completed. Contacted the company direct to discuss the poor workmanship to be advised the manager is not contactable? Office staff resulted in threatening to come and remove the blinds from elderly persons home. When the manager finally contacted me he was rude and aggressive and kept referring to his companies terms and conditions which he never provided me with at any point during our transaction and still has not. The company policy appears to be do not complain or we will send round a guy to take the blinds back!

And for good reasons! First of all the location could not have been better: A couple of blocks up from the central station and being in the heart of Newcastle for restaurants and nightlife. It is just a few minutes walk up to Chinatown or to Eldon Square and wherever else you need to go. Being so handy to the central station we spent many a weekend on short trips to Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as to Durham. Oh, the apartments themselves were just fantastic. We had never rented apartments before, and even though these are presented as part of an aparthotel they are huge. And we opted for space: Two bedroom & two full bathrooms (one is en suite too). There is also a very good sized living room with open dining area and a modern kitchen with crockery and cutlery and pots and pans available. You also get a fridge and hob with oven. We didn't prepare more than breakfasts. But it was great to have all of the equipment available anyway. The bedrooms are not too large really but they are comfortable and have all that one needs including wardrobes and clock radios. The bathrooms were great, modern, and spacious. Housekeeping was very good too. It was lots better than the Manchester location. As for the reception staff (Annette et al) I miss them to this day. They helped organize our bookings, called taxis for us, and got to know us on a personal level always cheerful and welcoming each time we returned. Even when I decided to make a sudden visit Annette helped me to get my booking quickly. Lovely staff.

There is a small hard-to-see slightly shabby signpost above the door. The sign is marked with contact information too. The door, which is usally kept pushed open, has a big step up and then there is a steep staircase which leads upstairs to the shop. It is a little daunting to climb the stairs and may be difficult if you have any walking problems. Disabled access is also therefore difficult, likewise for parents with prams. Parking is available in a free carpark behind the front street or on street level in limited spaces. The shop is quite large. The windows are painted with the name of the shop and the phone number. Stock and materials line the edges of the shop and it can look quite bulky and thrown together. There is a lot of choice of stock. The staff are friendly and will attend to you immediately. For anyone who has never visited, Dunelm Mill is a large shops which sells all sort of marvellous homeware, bed linen, furniture, kitchenware - basically anything you could possibly need for your home! As well as things you don't need but buy anyway just because they are pretty ;) In general the prices are reasonable even when there is not a sale on. The quality of the items which I have purchased has always been excellent, and on the rare occassion that I have had a problem, the staff have handled it well and issued a refund or replacement. Dunelm Mill often have some very good promotions on their bedding, which incidentally is the thing that I tend to shop there for most. They cater for all tastes - whether your home is contemporary or vintage inspired there's bound to be something that you need (or more often just want in my case!). Recently they have also started to sell online. Their web site is http://www.dunelm-mill.com . They do charge for delivery, though it is fairly reasonable at £3.95 for standard delivery or £5.95 for the next day service. They do have quite a lot of their products online; however, it is best to visit instore as they have more variety, and also the best end-of-line bargains tend not to appear on the website. Overall, Dunelm Mill is miles ahead of the more expensive homeware shops - great value, as well as offering durable and desirable homeware!
