Wow!!! Wow!! Wow!!! What an absolutely outstanding adventure my kids and I had at Walking-After Midnight Farm last month We truly had an unforgettable experience!! Our best trail ride EVER and we have done them all over the country!! It was a day full of fun and excitement! Absolute joy for a horse lover or just an outdoor enthusiast or parents looking to have a special day with their kids. Melissa, the owner, will personalize your ride and your overall experience and she is genuinely committed and motivated to make sure you are happy and satisfied. She is so awesome!!! Melissa has calm horses and frisky horse or two also and you can select a horse that best fits your style or abilities. She uses Tennessee Walkers and they are absolutely perfect for the trails. They're all fun and sure-footed and completely safe to ride! No worries there. And Melissa doesn't offer your typical nose to butt trail ride that most establishments offer. Her rides are pretty unique, just like her Tennessee Walkers. There are places where you can ride side by side on the trail, which I loved. I usually only get to look at the backs of my wife's and kids' heads when we trail ride. It was super to ride along side them and actually share conversation and enjoyment. Melissa will even let you run the horses if you are experienced and would like to do that. However, my favorite part of the ride was walking the horses through the river. That was awesome!!!! That was a thrill for us and a thrill for the horses too! Really!!! It was so cool to see how much the horses loved playing in the water. They were so obviously happy and having fun!! I had never seen that before! They were like little children with a new toy!! You'll love the farm, enjoy your ride, get attached to your horse, and have just an all-around memorable day at Walking After Midnight. If you love horses and an avid rider, or if you are a novice and would like to learn about horses, this is the place. This is not a stable with horses that will be strung along "nose to tail" in a trail walk only to take your money. This is an amazing place to ride or learn to ride in an enchanted forest atop a picturesque mountain. Your happiness and the horse's happiness are of the utmost priority at Bailey's Walking-After-Midnight Farm. All here are highly skilled at horsemanship and have generations of experience. This is a wonderful place to ride some very happy and well behaved horses! Melissa and her team are very nice and a pleasure to be around. You'll learn all about Tennessee Walking horses and be taken on a gorgeous trail ride through the West Virginia wilderness. This place has a wonderful trail rides with absolutely beautiful Tennessee walking horses and Spotted Saddle horses. You will ride through beautiful mountain scenery, crossing through creeks and riding down Country Roads. with knowledgeable staff that instructs you throughout the ride as necessary. The horses are very well cared for and all of the staff are very knowledgeable, kind and make your ride specialized to the needs of your ability. read more

We had an amazing time riding horses at the farm. They took the time to explain some of the nuances of bonding and controlling the horses, and made sure to match each rider with an appropriate horse. The guide was very helpful, friendly, and encouraging. Afterwards, we were invited in for delicious hot coco, and some great tales about the farm. I have went trail riding at both the farm and the C&O canal with Melissa and her staff. I have taken the grandkids on several occasions. I've had the opportunity to take several trail rides at Bailey's Farm. We went through the woods as well as on gravel roads. The trails included streams and hills. It was an incredible experience with the horses and trail guides. I wish I lived closer, I'd go more often. read more
