We love camping with the convenience of a restaurant on site. The owners and staff are friendly. The food is delicious 95% of the time. Sometimes the burgers and fries have been overcooked. Our favorites are prime rib Saturdays and any/all of their freshly made on-site desserts. We also love that they continue to make improvements and upgrades across their property. With that said there's no TV or microwave in your room. I didn't ask or look if there was a microwave in the common area but there was a large tv and lots of movies to watch in there. Lots of outdoor seating on the porch and a communal fire at 8 each night. Very nice! I'd love to go back there again. Also very quiet and not busy of 4th of July weekend so if you have pets afraid of fireworks this would be a good place to stay . If you enjoy the outdoors, you will love Buena Vista. My husband and took in the beautiful, rolling hills on our morning run and it was peaceful and serene. The breakfasts were absolutely perfect. The coffee was good and hospitality was warm and inviting. The hostess, Patti, is so kind and accommodating, we didn't want to leave! There is also the sweetest cat that comes to visit, so if you're like me and obsessed with cats, Rosebud is the cherry on top of an already perfect stay. (If you're allergic, Patti will keep her put away) We will definitely be back. We highly recommend you visit.

Robin is very warm and knowledgeable about farming and local flora and fauna. She also gives 2,4 and 8 hour horseback rides. He border collie Della loves to fetch frisbees. The hosts prepared a circle campfire near the lodge every night we stayed. We came a little past the summer solstice and we took advantage of the trails and saw tons of wildflowers. We wer sandwiched between 2 cookout shelters which were littered with old garbage cans, used roofing materials etc. The "Game room" was dirty and had not 1 game or activity that worked or wasn't broken. Other than the lack of upkeep, it was a nice place. Our site had nice grass, the pool was clean (but a little cold), great fishing, very friendly environment. Cabins are not worth the $ either.

The rooms are very simple, but they meet your needs so well. The rooms will come with all the linens, pillows, bunk beds, etc. You won't need a sleeping bag. I would probably bring your own pillow though.. The kitchenette is REALLY awesome in my opinion. When I go out to a place like this, I really like to cook. I bring all my own cast iron, rice cooker, crock pots, every thing. Most places that say they carry kitchen type equipment, don't actually carry ****. Anyway, this place had every type of kitchen accouterment that you could ask for. I was making chicken curry, I needed a wire whisk. I am in the middle of nowhere, why would they have a wire whisk? Sure enough.. wire whisk in drawer. Next... I wanted to charge the batteries that are permanent installed in my boat. The proprietor let me move boat into a RV trailer spot, and charge all night. no charge for spot. Next... On day of check out, sign says 11:30 AM checkout. We wished we had time to hit Chopaka lake for a little fishing. Looked like no way on time.. I am not going to ask about a later check out, most people only give you an hour. My comrade talks to host lady, she gives us until 3:00. Bam! off to Chopka. The place has been repainted, new tiles on counters and flooring. Shower is hot, toilets are clean and functional. Store carries anything you need. Swimming pool is very nice. It's an awesome basecamp. Thank you Teri!
