I scheduled a procedure with this office nearly two weeks in advance and traveled from the United…read moreStates specifically for it. The experience was disappointing and, ultimately, unprofessional. The office changed my appointment time after it was booked. Ok, I moved my schsedI to make it work. When I sent a detailed medical history in advance, prepared specifically for the doctor, I received no response to it at all, except a message confirming payment details. The preparation instructions I was given amounted to only a few words. On the morning of the procedure, after I had completed the required fasting and prep, I asked the office to confirm that the doctor had reviewed my medical records before proceeding, which matters because I have a complex history including adrenal insufficiency. In response, the office cancelled the appointment. They later confirmed the doctor and anesthesiologist had in fact reviewed my information, and still cancelled, knowing I had already fasted and prepared and that this was my only available date before flying home. Asking a physician to confirm he has reviewed a patient's records before a sedated procedure is a reasonable safety request. Cancelling a fasted, prepared, out-of-town patient at the last minute in response to that request is not how a professional practice should operate. I cannot recommend this office to other patients, particularly those traveling for care or with complex medical needs.

What a phenomenal experience. I can honestly say that I had…read morenothing but incredible interactions with any and all of the staff members here. I also want to give a very special and heartfelt acknowledgments to my surgeon Dr. Quiñonez a.k.a. Dr. Q! Now, that I am back and have had time to fully process my experience, I'm really happy with the care and expertise of Dr. Q and his staff. He is somewhat of a reserved gentlemen but has the most experience at this facility. Depending on who you ask he is also the one who perfected the technique that is primarily used at Pompeii Surgical. Although, I made sure to do a deep dive into every aspect of the surgery, (I did 2 1/2 months of training/ learning). He fully explain the procedure and even drew a diagram to make sure that I was comfortable with what was going to happen. Now, let's talk about the obvious. For most people who come down to use this facility and take advantage of the procedures for a fraction of the cost. the fact that it's in Tijuana, Mexico makes people hesitant and even scared. The false ideals of cartel problems or even dangerous activities that are assumed to happen, is a non factor. I highly recommend this place for a high quality medical experience and for anyone that has to pay out of pocket for bariatric surgery. I have read horror stories about being forced to jump through hoops for insurance companies. To fight for financing and their required qualification period to be approved. at the time of this review the cost was $5300 cash or specialized check. That covered everything but airfare. Unfortunately, as of March 1st, 2022, the price has gone up to $5800. But it's still cheaper than paying in the states and in my opinion, Worth every penny!! It's Unbelievable care at a world class facility. I will tell you that this facility and all those that work here from the: surgeons, assistants and nurses are phenomenal. I also want to mention how fantastic the care coordinators and even the drivers- are professionals of the highest caliber. The facility is incredibly clean and modernized. Guests are treated with world class respect and care. I would highly recommend anyone considering bariatric surgery to come here and make it a vacation.

I went to my Dr here in the US and she prescribed me anti depressants! I lost hope at one point and thought I was going to have to live like that for the rest of my life. I found Dr Reyes on Yelp and even though she's a 2.5 hr drive from me I was so desperate I decided to make an appointment. It's been the best decision I have made all year. She prescribed me medication and I took it for a whole month. After the 1st day I already felt so much better. After a few days I felt normal again, a feeling I hadn't felt in almost 2 years. After 1 month I ran out of the meds but I don't even need them anymore. I haven't taken them for 2 weeks and my stomach has been fine. If you suffer like I was before you lose hope please go visit Dr Reyes. She's so amazing!

She's losing weight but it is far too early to predict final outcome, but so far so good. She's happy. Everything I experienced indicated a first class medical facility and staff, and would have no reservations about recommending or using it. Now other stuff, kind of travel guide stuff, for persons not having surgery. I travel regularly to Mexico and drove, although everyone else with whom I spoke was picked up at San Diego airport by a clinic arranged transfer. GPS apps for "Obesity Goodbye" gave me a 4100 address, which doesn't exist, but the Yelp address and map position is correct. You're not far from the border so you celular phone may have problems because it's receiving both US and Mexican cell towers. Turn it off and back on as kind of a reset. Street parking most hours requires a paid ticket with license plate number displayed on the dash - the machine is across the street by Carl's Junior. Jesus at the office took care of it for me. (also gave me a good tip on an auto detail place). The staff parks inside and they kindly offered to park my car inside as well. Nice people, very accommodating. They will bring you take out food from local places, great Mexican street tacos. There is a 'starbucks' like coffee place about 2 blocks called 'D'Volada" - same types of coffee drinks, food items and smoothies. Calimax is the local supermarket chain- and has a small store nearby. DO take a walk down "La Revo" as Revolucion street is popularly called, it's like 15 blocks to the border, where you see the big arch. Cuban Cigars at La Casa del Habana and the restaurant that created the cesar salad (yes, the most famous Mexican food in the US is the cesar's salad - see my Yelp reviews) Restaurante Cesar, are 5-6 blocks - about halfway to the border. Mexican pharmacies have many medicines cheaper than the US and have a doctor available for consultations who will write prescriptions for a small fee. Take advantage. Shoeshines and haircuts are also much less. Oh , and score points, or at least, don't get demerits with the locals by pronouncing the name correctly , it's TI juana, NOT Tia Juana. Enjoy.

Sheri Burke is part of the team and coordinated the flights and hotel and airport pick up- everything was streamlined and easy. Sheri is a certified nutritionist and is outstanding at her job. When I arrived at the clinic, I was helped right away by the staff. I was apprehensive like most people are before surgery. Dr. Verboonen was reassuring and the research I had done on the Center and on Dr. Verboonen's record and expertise was confirmed. I am now almost at goal weight - 148 pounds. Sometimes I still can't believe it. In addition, the Center provides follow up care and nutrition advice once you get back home. The post-op diet was easy to follow and Sheri was there to help as I transitioned to a new way of eating - much healthier and I don't miss the junk I used to eat. Most of all, I feel like a new person. I never thought I would be this weight again. I feel better, I have more energy, and I am so grateful to Dr. Verboonen, the other doctors who assisted in my surgery, Sheri and the entire staff. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Certus Lab in the Rio district has been a disaster from the first day. My loved one was diagnosed with AML (leukemia) and we were sent to this lab to have 2 important tests conducted on Thursday, 3/11/2021. The lab could only perform 1 of the 2 tests and staved us off until Tuesday 3/16 for test #2. However, test #1 was to be ready on the evening of 3/11 or at the latest, morning of 3/12. Nothing for Thursday or Friday and when I called on Saturday, the lab couldn't even find the name of the patient AND never did. We returned on Wednesday 3/17 to have the tests repeated and test #1 was promised by end of day 3/17 or first thing 3/18 by email. Nothing in my email on Thursday and when we called, no ability to locate the results. I checked today (3/19) online and results are in process. Called about 2:30 and low and behold, the results are ready (but online still shows in process). When the report came to me via email, the report was generated Thursday, 3/18 @ 7:34 AM?! Why no report could be found or why it wasn't sent to me, I was given no good reason!? And no apology. AND, I think a partial or full refund is in order since we've not been given what we were promised - TWICE! Makes me wonder if I can trust the results, too!! Test #2 was to be free based on a program in Mexico and they had "no record" of that. The Dr. even took the time to complete the paperwork for us and they still couldn't figure it out. They finally spoke with the organization about the free test and refunded us, but nothing is in our account yet! If this is a professional lab, I don't want to see a non-professional lab. This is someone's life and a a brief treatment window that shouldn't be compromised by ineptness. I'd love to hear from Jasmin Bravo (supposed supervisor), but she's slippery and never available. Just a warning that you should check to see if there are other options before you subject your results and your health concerns to this sloppy outfit called a lab!
