Rather than giving it to the luthier and having him put the sound post back, she yammered on and on about how if they did put the sound post back in, it might just fall down again. I also had pegs that were not drilled and asked her if they could drill them. Rather than agreeing to drill them, she went on and on about who knows what. She wrapped up her presentation up by saying "You people buy things on Amazon and expect us..." I have bought things there before like shoulder rests, viola bows and other things. I really expected a better reception than I got. I took the violin to Park Violins down the street. He did both of the repairs and refused to take any money for it. I know that lady has a $35,000 violin because she tells me that every time I was in that store, but that is no reason to be condescending to a customer.

Although I had some music background, I really didn't know anything about singing and she patiently brought me from not knowing chest voice and head voice to being able to confidently sing throughout my entire range. There were times I really struggled with understanding singing and Jennifer was always patient and encouraging. And I get to spend some time each lesson working on singing any song I'd like to work on. That's fun! I play keyboards and guitar in some local bands, and sing backup, and I've gotten a lot of feedback about how much my singing has improved since I started taking lessons from Jennifer. I feel like my lessons with her are my secret weapon for getting really good at singing! I thought that music schools were mainly geared towards children, but the quality of instruction was way more than adequate for learning voice as an adult and helping me with the singing I currently do professionally. I definitely recommend the Schaumburg School of Music in general, and Jennifer in particular, to anyone who wants to learn an instrument or learn or develop their singing voice. Jeff listened to my concern and did not just pass it off.

My two girls (ages 11 and 9) have worked with Tamar over the past year. We began working with her to supplement the Hebrew education our girls were receiving in Hebrew School. My oldest daughter expressed interest in learning more Hebrew, so we looked for, and found, a wonderful Hebrew tutor. Tamar works with both of our daughters at the same time (during the same hour) but manages to successfully individualize their Hebrew instruction. Over the course of the year, Tamar has learned what motivates them and how to motivate them! She is very patient with both girls and is so supportive of their progress. They both look forward to working with her because she is just so genuinely encouraging. Tamar cares about their Hebrew instruction, and it shows. She has brought over games, songs, and supplements that continue to engage my girls. Both girls have improved their Hebrew tremendously. My oldest is a fluent reader and while preparing for her Bat Mitzvah, is also simultaneously learning Hebrew as a language. My youngest has learned all of her letters and is an emerging reader (with consistent, steady progress). Tamar is warm, gracious, patient, dedicated, caring and works engaging her students.
