A cosy cafe with an excellent tea selection. It's very homey and serves great cakes and healthy food with different specials everyday including gluten free options.

    Wonderful food at Baldry's!

If we had been much later, they would have struggled as it was obviously a popular place to eat. The staff were very good and knowledgeable and friendly. The decor is pleasant and the atmosphere is inviting. Run by a husband and wife, the foo was exquisite. I had a smoked salmon and mackeral pot on a bed of cucumber spaghetti for my starter and it was simply divine. My mine was a fillet of Seabass on pesto linguini and everything about it was lovely. To finish I had a lovely sticky toffee pudding, with vanilla icecream. It's certainly not the cheapest of places to eat, but in my mind you definitely get what you paid for. They have a good seletion of wine on offer at reasonable prices too. Highly recommended.

He then expected me to follow him back into the toilet for some reason. I went back to my table. Then to hear that he apologised to the person paying for the bill - she advised him that she was not the person to apologise to. This was a silly unnecessary event which marred an otherwise enjoyable evening. To the owner all you needed to do was apologise nothing more, simples!!

Idiosyncratic, unique, slightly scatty, The Jumble room lives up to its name. Downstairs us all scatter cushions and throws and upstairs is more restrained. Some tables have benches which can be quite romantic depending on who you sit next to. The walls are adorned with rural artwork including several paintings of cows! The toilets are covered with old album covers which makes it hard to leave as you recall what that old David Bowie album actually looked like. The food is I suppose restrained British though with foreign nods. I had the mixed cured meats to start. It was lovely. A rump steak to follow was well hung and tasty. Desert was another great cheeseboard. A fantastic place which I look forward to returning to-but not too often.

My wife had an Asian influenced roast chicken that was delicious and I had the lamb tagine that was exotic and tender as can be. For starters I had a delicious pork belly that was equally flavorful. For desert we had a Scottish whiskey cream and berries that was perfect. Combined with a bottle of fine Zinfandel we enjoyed a perfect meal. I hope more visitors discover this restaurant. Truly great food in a charming setting.

For lunch, the food we ordered was good but a bit small and not super satisfying. Corned Beef and Mustard sandwich was on the smaller end with a tiny slice of corned beef. It was mostly bread, but will say the fresh baked bread is good. Enjoyed the Quiche of the Day (cheese and leek), which came with a bit of salads. Supplemented with an extra sausage side. The savory cheese scone with chutney, butter, and cheese was yummy!

Yesterday, as is sometimes the case, there was a queue and people were waiting for seats to become available. A member of staff frequently appeared at the door but failed to communicate to anyone in the queue that the restaurant was closing early. After some 20 minutes of queuing she eventually spoke up, having wasted the time of my group plus people queuing ahead of us and behind us. This prompted an uncharacteristic exchange from me but without any acknowledgement from the staff member that through her thoughtlessness and utter incompetence, she had wasted what probably amounted to over an hour of people's time. To potential customers...be aware of the utter lack of respect and customer service you may encounter at this place. To the owners of this establishment...you are ultimately responsible for how your staff treat customers and if you place customer engagement anywhere near business profitability will ensure this is addressed to prevent future potential customers having their time wasted through the sheer incompetence of the staff you employ.
