I already have a crown on the tooth that may need a root canal, and I wanted to know whether, if the existing crown is in good condition and can be retained, their provider can permanently restore the access hole made through the crown after the root canal. I was told that they normally place a temporary filling and send patients back to their general dentist. I understood that, but that wasn't what I was asking. I wasn't asking anyone to determine over the phone whether my particular crown could be restored. I simply wanted to know whether permanent restoration of an existing crown is something their providers will do when clinically appropriate. I even asked if she could check with the provider. Instead of getting a simple answer such as, "Yes, we can do that if the crown is suitable," or "No, our office never does permanent restorations and always refers patients back to their dentist," I was told that it depends on the provider and my situation and that I would need to come in for a consultation. That's what I found frustrating. I completely understand needing an examination to determine whether my crown is suitable to keep. But I don't believe I should have to pay nearly $200 just to find out whether the provider offers the service I'm looking for in the first place. I ultimately decided not to schedule. The interaction left me feeling like getting me booked for a paid consultation was more important than simply finding out from the provider whether this was something they were willing to do.

As a DV survivor restarting my life, I chose this practice intentionally to seek a 2nd opinion on an issue I am having to wait extensively to have treated via my current state provided insurance. I had a friend reccomend this place to me, and the staff were so kind on the phone and tried to work me in sooner(despite my schedule not allowing), and I had high hopes for the experience before meeting the dentist. Dr. Zachary Garnett was so condescending and rude to me (rather than give me any actual advice) that I actually cried. I was hoping to have a good experience here, as I am starting a new job and will qualify for benefits in early spring 2025, and along with improving my smile structurally, I am more than just interested in having some cosmetic work done by 2026. Unfortunately, (or fortunately for me) I will never return to this practice. I am still thoroughly astonished at the total lack of understanding or compassion I was exposed to, at one point even feeling very mocked by him. Though the dental assistants were simply wonderful, it isn't enough. I had driven a 90 minute round trip and paid $107 out of pocket to be made to feel like ignorant trash. And I might be those things, but I am also a human being paying for a service. This has been a very difficult time in my life and all I wanted to know was what the issue is for certain, and what my best and then second best options were - so that I could make a well informed decision. Horrible experience with crown on front tooth. Crown is not a color match and sticks out further…read morethan other teeth due to dentist not removing enough of natural tooth before placing crown. The lab who crafted crown, gave specific instructions that dentist must remove a specific amount of natural tooth in order for crown to fit and not protrude further than other teeth. Dr. Vonnahme was rushed and made me feel very rushed to make a decision when given the mirror to see the crown before it was seated. He spent zero time looking at it with me to make sure it was a good fit/match. I expressed to two different staff members before leaving appointment that I was unhappy with crown. I called the next day to schedule appointment to talk with dentist to see about replacing the crown. During that appointment, I expressed all of my concerns once again to staff. Office manager was sent to speak with me and was VERY rude, and condescending. She told me that I'm just being "overly critical" and compared my dissatisfaction with my tooth to her feeling fat. Office manager even pinched her stomach and said, "I think l'm fat but my husband doesn't."Office manager went on to say that dentist didn't make me feel rushed, and dismissed all of my concerns. Note, she was not present during any of the seating of the crown, so how does she know what the dentist did and how he made me feel? Office manager stated that if I wanted crown replaced, it would be completely out of pocket and the cost would be $932. Dr. Vonnahme wouldn't even come speak with me. Fast forward to three weeks post crown. I'm in pain, guessing because my bite is off because the crown is too big. I do not recommend this practice.
