Macon is not the most culinary part of the Bourgogne region but Chez Pierre everything just falls into place. The beautifully prepared dishes are culinary, creative but not too fancy and experimental. Actually we think they make a perfect balance between traditional French cuisines and the more modern techniques.
We had a gourmand menu with small lobsters, lots of truffle, coquilles and pigeon and we loved it. We completed our dining with a beautiful chocolate ball that was 'finished' at the table. Very nice!
Although they have an extensive winelist we choose all Bourgogne wines from surrounding areas. The wines were very nice and tasteful and very well priced.
I would love to come back here.
