I emailed the team here and they got back to me quickly. I sent them a mock up of the image I wanted to work with so they had an idea, as well as, the location I preferred. When I arrived, the artist was able to do a transfer for me and we opted to move the placement a little bit higher up my wrist as I have a dominate tendon that could have been more painful and made it look odd with the movements. I liked that she advised me on her logic and why she thought it was best to move it up about an inch. The tattoo took about 30 minutes and was wrapped up nicely. The place was very clean and everyone was very professional. It healed up nicely and still looks great. I get a lot of compliments on it. Went back at 9pm and they told us that they signed over 100 people in and they only got through 10 tattoos so far! They were closing and would be calling over the weekend for us to come in! We waited all day to be told we couldn't get tattoos until the weekend. If we knew they wouldn't have been able to tattoo us we would have gone else where as Friday the 13th has tattoo deals everywhere. Well then they started posting their photos from the flash event. This is the quality of the tattoos they were doing. It looks like they didn't even use a stencil! No one in my group wanted to go anymore if we got called in. I messaged Buddha blue on Instagram telling them that was a really bad tattoo and was blocked! Yikes! Truth hurts, they got in way over their heads by knowingly signing up 100+ tattoos to be done and then screwed everyone over by only being able to do 10... and couldn't even do the tattoos right.

In the end, I never went back to finish the work and left him with my deposit since he wasn't charging fairly. He has a pissy attitude (not too friendly once you become a client) to top it off and the environment can be unprofessional. He also body shames women! Finding an artist you click with, who has a style you love, that you can put all of your trust in is such a difficult task. As someone who has accumulated quite a few tattoos from different artists, I can honestly say I never felt that I had found "the one" - the artist I knew I could stick with through all of my future ideas - the artist I would truly and quite literally let draw whatever creations they saw in their head on my body - until I met Kaylee. I have plenty of visible tattoos but the one I went to Kaylee for was going to be my most visible, most important piece yet - an ear tattoo. Having a tattoo basically on your face is a big deal, you know? I had no doubt in my mind that Kaylee could come up with something beautiful that would fit my anatomy perfectly, and I was SO right. Kaylee designed the piece right on my ear, making sure it looked as if it was always meant to be there. The attention to detail and the care that went into cutting out each piece of the stencil to make sure it laid on my ear correctly was nuts. Kaylee is a perfectionist and that is what you WANT when you are getting something permanently altered. The process of getting the tattoo itself was SO comfortable - I was actually shocked. I expected some pain, and obvious discomfort, but Kaylee's light-hand and immaculate natural talent made for one of my most comfortable sessions yet with no pain. I'd gotten a recommendation for fine line tattoos from a friend who had gotten a few from Ca and I'd been following his work on Instagram for a while. He recently started a brand new tattoo studio in Apopka, SOMA (@soma.tattoostudio) and I was excited to book a session for me and my sisters. The best way to book is to go to their Instagram and DM them (or do what I did and DM the artist directly). The directions to the studio are simple, just know that it's located next to a Circle K, in a fairly non-descript spot on the corner. Once you enter though, you'll feel calm from a beautiful, minimalist designed space that has tons of natural light and a few plants. It feels very clean and inviting, which is not always the case with tattoo shops. Ca did a few tattoos for me and for my sister (on separate appointments) and I would absolutely return for more work by his steady, delicate hand. He has a background in architecture and it shows with every line placement and how meticulous he is to get the placement just right. I cannot recommend Ca and SOMA tattoo studio enough. It was a completely different experience from my last tattoo (20 years ago!!) with an extremely kind and gentle artist who clearly takes a lot of pride in his work. Note: After a fine line tattoo you should not drink alcohol for at least 5 days. Note this when planning dates for your appointment.
