We purchased skip-the-line tickets via Viator and rented the self-guided audio headsets (I think they were around $5 each, maybe a little more). The collection of art is beautiful, spanning many different periods. Their most famous piece is Klimt's The Kiss. I'll be honest -- I didn't know much about Gustav Klimt before, but after seeing his work, I'm now a big fan. After touring the art museum, stroll through the vast gardens. They are beautiful, both in the front and back.

Also always inquiring if everything was ok. Now for the negatives. No snacks with the drinks, could give a small bowl of peanuts or so. Would be a nice touch. It gets very busy on the weekends so if you come for a drink and chat then forget it. A great place to party but not really for chatting with friends. Toilets are very small so there might be a queue. Over a pretty decent place. Will be back.

I would recommend reserving your tickets online and picking them up at least 30 minutes before the film begins. The food counter is a bit pricey for the limited selection, but its a normal cost within the Vienna area. The kino itself is clean and has various size auditoriums for different films. It's in an unobtrusive, residential…read morearea - close to the Schiele atelier, and also the house where Schiele died. it's not his actual atelier, rather, it is a villa that is built around the original structure. They have recreated his studio in one of the rooms. There's an exhibit about Klimt, his works, and the times that he lived in that is quite interesting. The exhibit design is somewhat strange, as it's printed on sheets of glass that you slide over to read. And it's a bit hard to read. The information is interesting, though. The caretaker is a friendly guy, and he'll give you a little background information on the history of the building to the present. There's a gift shop with all sorts of Klimt gee gaws for the 75 year old woman on your gift list. The upstairs is not always open, I was lucky enough to be able to check it out on my visit. It's a beautiful performance space for receptions and small concerts, overlooking the back garden. A really serene, nice spot.

I like the natural lighting that enhanced colors in his studio and also seeing the link between 19th century Japanese paintings and Klimt's flamboyant style. This is not an exciting destination ... and it is def pricey for basically a one floor atelier tour. The guy who works the front desk is however really friendly and gives a great introduction to your self-guided tour, And it's always interesting to me to try to uncover more influences behind the creative process. I'm glad I made the visit this one time.

The Sisi Museum was one that I visited, and all day long, the palace grounds are teeming with tourists. Even if you don't enter the palace, you can walk through the grounds, enjoy the garden, people watch, and enjoy watching the horse-drawn carriages. Baroque architecture heaven!

The Hofburg is a giant complex of museums, government buildings, the Austrian president's home, and…read moreso much more. Much of it is open to the public and the grounds are free to walk around on. Everything else is either closed to the public or requires an entrance fee. There is something for everyone here: the Sisi Museum, the national Library, the Spanish Riding school (home to the famous Lipizzaner horses), a Butterfly house.....you couldn't possibly see everything in a day!
