Do NOT use Scott Ballard. I repeat DO NOT use Scott Ballard! I will try to make this as short as possible. My 1 and a half year old was going to daycare at a place called "Wee Care For All" her shoes got dirty so during outside playtime they sent my daughter outside without shoes on, in the middle of summer in 100° weather. They called me luckily it was on my work phone so I had the whole thing recorded. It was on the news you can look it up it made worldwide news. Took my baby to the hospital she had 2nd degree burns on her feet. I hired Scott to file a lawsuit. I waited 3 whole years with zero progress. I emailed and called so many times and no response. Finally I decided to pull out I emailed on a Friday and funny enough his assistant I think Kayla was her name said "We have been working with the insurance company all week that would have resulted in a settlement, but we wish you good luck in all your future endeavors". Wait what??? If that was the case then they would have called to work with me because that would have been money for them. Don't trust these people they lie so much. Waited 3 whole years for absolutely nothing. Might want to look into Scott's background too, the whole town knows about the skeletons in his closet. read more

I payed Ballard $3500 over a year ago for my case and haven't seen or heard any improvemenr. they don't call or keep in touch I honestly feel like I've wasted my time and money with this guy. his secretary isn't much help eithe. I'm the only one who ever reaches out and I showed up to court just to find out my name was taken off the docket and nobody even told me anything. read more

Our father hired this man to represent him for a divorce, then after he died, they were suppose to help my brother and I settle our estate. Neither happened and we basically got taken for $18,500.00. We never got anything for the money we paid them. We still don't have any kind of proper billing that makes any sense from this office. From little they did turn over, we discovered they gave over a grand to a place called High Hope 'nursing' home without our knowledge or permission to do any such thing. From what little we did get from this bunch, we saw Ballard also charges *his* fee, $250.00 per hour, for the work his *paralegals* do. No paralegal is worth the same amount as the attorney according to our new attorney. They are ripping off people and this is likely why we still don't have a proper billing and why it took two rounds from our new attorney to finally get a pile of paper sent to us with some of what they claimed we paid for. And boy did we pay. We also have copies of emails that showed them talking behind our back and it wasn't very nice. They rarely return our calls or emails, they avoid you like the plague. We were also lied to us often. And for some strange reason, they told the state bar we shut off gas to our father's estranged wife "during winter time" - it was past the middle of May in Brenham, in Texas. This was a classic example of the nonsense we had to endure. Ballard also had our dad's estranged wife's daughter make a false claim in court no less to cover their themselves over one of their own giving out information they knew could do harm to our father. One his two paralegals leaked out information on the whereabouts of our father to his wife he was divorcing - a serious conflict of interest to most people. They knew we had emails from one of his own paralegals talking about what happened that day. There is a lot more, but the short of it - worst nightmare we've ever encountered. We would not ever recommend this attorney nor anyone on his staff to anyone except maybe our worst enemy. There are better attorneys around and plenty of them. read more
