It feels like your driving up to a mall in the movie Waynes World or Weird Science. In the US, most large shopping malls are either closed or on the decline. Americans have been gravitating towards more time efficient methods of shopping for the past 10-20 years and malls are now considered time consuming with their large parking lots and extensive landscape of stores to navigate. However, Sweden is a much slower paced culture that likes to enjoy a more leisurely quality of life. That, and Sweden's love of American consumer culture is why I think that larger and larger malls have been popping up everywhere around Stockholm the past few years. Heron City actually has been around much longer than a lot of the others and is a bit smaller, but if your from the US will feel a little like stepping back in time. They have a food court, a water fountain, a restaurant called "Amazone" that mimics "The Rain Forest Cafe," a play place for children, a movie theater and a few large and small stores. The only thing It's missing is a large midwestern clothing store like a Macy's or a Dillard's! HA! Usually, we come here for the movies, bowling, arcade games and dinner (in either Pizza Hut, O'leary's, or the food court). Somehow, we usually end up going in Mio or Media Markt when there's time to kill before a film and I end up purchasing something (movie days can get get a little expensive when i'm waiting surrounded by home decor, electronics and sportswear) $$$$!!!! =) =) =) TIP: This is a great place to bring your kids. They have these funny large (fake) animals that kids can "ride" and that large play place upstairs that I mentioned. The arcade inside of O'leary's and the movie theater are also pretty kid friendly. TIP: There's a funny little booth where you can buy a cup of prepared fresh (not popped) corn. Yes, I said CORN! haha.

Me and my company had the most unpleasant visit here tonight. What is it with O'Learys and slow…read moretable service? Food was great - pasta with salmon and Blackened Voodoo Chicken. But service left more to wish of. The restaurant was far from full and three servers on duty. Service was soooooooooo slooooooow. We got our first drinks rather quick, but still much slower than at most places. Food we had to wait for. The party at the table next to us got food before us even if they ordered later. Before we ordered we showed our discount tickets "Yes, of course" we got as respond. So it was clear she saw them and knew what it was. During dinner we ordered another beer and it must have raken almost 15 minutes and a reminder "It is on its way" before we finally got it, after meal was finished. The bill came super quick but now we got an attitude when pointing out discount was not calculated. "No, because noone showed us any tickets" was the reply. "Yes we did". "No you didn't". "Did anybodyelse serve on us?". "I have no idea, we are so many working here". To this I eish I had replied "Maybe then it wouldnt tske 25 min to get the refill". Note, it was the same girl serving on us the entire time. Note, all tables around us had to wait for refills. At places with good service, servers ASK YOU if you want another drink before you know it yourself. But here, they obviously do not care for some extra bucks. Well, unfortunately you cannot subtrack for bad service. I would have given one star but food was actually good. So if you have all the time in the world and don't mind snotty servers / please enjoy the meal. Also I gate their stick table cloths! They grt stuck on your arms ALL THE TIME. Maybe I need better manners not leaning my arms on the table... They accept AMEX.

This place was laid back, a little hipstery (ok, maybe a lot) and had a nice relaxed interior. We sat upstairs on a wednesday evening and it wasn't too crowded but still seemed full. Though, being upstairs is not that much fun if you like to go up and down in heels to have a "party cig"to complement your drinking--Guilty! The waitress was really attentive and fast considering we were up a flight of stairs for her though! Since I seem to always comment about the bathrooms lately (LOL!), I thought I should mention this one has a funny little area that has a collection of cheap makeup for everyones use. That just screams "pink-eye outbreak" to me, but whatever! On another note, ask for their "black hell" cocktail! yum.
