They told us we could pick out what we wanted (painting pottery or melting glass together). I ended up selecting a small vase and I went to town on finding the right colors. We all really enjoyed painting out respective pieces and it was actually harder than I thought! I used a bunch of different-sized brushes so I could get the right amount of detail for certain parts of my design. There weren't very many staff members around to help if we had any questions, but I honestly can't think of any questions we might have. It's pretty straightforward: pick out your piece, pick out your paint, and go to town painting it! One of my sisters later picked up the box of all our decorated pieces, so I didn't have any more interaction with the employees there. I had a really fun experience here; there's nothing quite like relaxing with a paintbrush and hanging out with friends, even if you're no Van Gogh. Tips: Be sure to check the little swatch that shows you how the paint colors turn out after being fired up in the kiln. I wasn't observant enough, and my vase turned out a robin egg blue when I was expecting a royal blue. Also, I recommend writing your name on the bottom, just in case!

I found three really destinct cards I liked and I also saw a display large metal window hanger I wanted for my friend for Christmas. Upon purchasing the cards I specifically asked the man working if any and all displays were for sale and he replied "yes of course". By the way the signs are posted everywhere. I went to go get the window hanger and before I knew it I was being yelled at by the woman who had chased me over to it as I was grabbing it off the display she was going for my arms to stop me. She had to sprint over to me considering where I was and where she was. She yelled "you can't have that one!". I replied "seriously am I iliterate?" "The sign is right there and your coworker just stated "everything is for sale including all displays" This woman was yelling, not speaking " You can't have that one it's for display". I said "I know it's a display but I just asked him". She yelled "You can't have it" and "blah, blah, blah" "it hasn't been priced yet, etc..." very very loudly. At that point I could no longer understand her. I was shaking I was so upset. She had turned what should've been a pleasant purchase for a friend into a traumatic incident. I did point out to her the effects of social media when someone acts as she did and she said she didn't care because she's closing. I also left with yelling myself that "there's insanity at large going on in here". I'm sure that everyone has a different experience there but this was my trauma for the day and I will not go back to be subjected to any verbal abuse or harassment from her.

This Archiver's is a nice location. As per most Archiver's stores, the prices can be on the steep…read moreside, and they don't offer much in the way of discounts (though on my most recent visit I did have a coupon from an email ad). A nice selection of scrapbooking products and a decent sized sale section to boot! Things at this location are arranged around the store in a slightly odd (to me) manner, but things can be found. My one problem is that the employees often seem to be more interested on chatting or stocking things to notice that there are multiple customers needing assistance/ringing up at the registers. A few "excuse me"s toward them has shown to be less than effective at times. However, while they may not be particularly attentive, they are polite and friendly. While I'd still prefer shopping at a locally owned scrapbook store, I nearly always pop into this Archiver's on drives through Appleton.

About a year ago, our friends' daughter-in-law suffered a profoundly sad event. The flower girls were just sensational. They chose such unique, exquisite flowers and had great ideas for notes and wrapped the flowers in a beautiful, appropriate presentation. You could tell their hearts were involved. Whether the flowers are for our home, or for this occasion, everything has been just wonderful!
