Balloons & Tunes did a great job with the hot air balloon theme for my daughter's first birthday shoot (see photo) with Mister Guy Photography. Ryan Steffes, the photographer, ordered the balloon and apparently they're used to doing this and gave him options for baskets and what not. The netting was pretty cute but I think a different twine or something would have looked a little nicer. It was crazy hot but we only had it outside for a few hours. Sadly, it started to wilt the next day but my daughter still enjoyed playing with it even if it was on the ground. read more

A five-star review of Balloons & Tunes is something that I should have written 10 years ago, when I first reached out to them because I needed balloon towers for a public-facing special event that I was involved with organizing at UNC-Chapel Hill. I say "balloon towers" now, but at the time I had no idea what options were available nor what they were called. I received excellent assistance over the phone from a Balloons & Tunes staff member who very patiently listened to what I needed and explained my options. The balloon towers were delivered on time, lasted well, and looked amazing. This week I ordered "number balloons" for a birthday celebration during the pandemic. As before, I received professional service over the phone. Pick-up at the store was easy and touch-free. The balloons were weighted with easy-to-adjust, sand-filled weights and I was told that helium refills are free. The large, shiny balloons really brightened up a quarantined birthday celebration and their price was absolutely reasonable. I recommend Balloons & Tunes without reservation. read more

My daughter and her friend had been driving around for 2.5 hours trying to find a place to blow up their balloons, for a reasonable price, they had bought online for graduation. Party City was one place and were charging $19.95 each to blow up the big balloons - that is more than the balloons cost. Wal-Mart and HT don't blow up Mylar balloons, and The Dollar Store were clueless on how to price it, and told them to go Party City. They looked up on Google: "places that blow up Mylar balloons" and this was the first place to come up. Once they arrived, the women were exceptionally nice and very helpful! The balloons were blown up for a fraction of what Party City was going to charge. And, they even offered, and held, the balloons in the store while my daughter and her friend went to lunch because the heat in the car would have ruined them. Such a tiny special little shop just brimming with happiness. Pat was so helpful and fun to chat with. I ordered 5 bouquets with 3 balloons each. One large one in a pretty valentine pattern and two clear. They added a little festive curled ribbon too. Just perfect spread around the house for our valentine open house. Nothing but excellent customer service from Balloons and Tunes! I work for a restaurant in Chapel Hill and we always order from them for big events we need balloons for. I stumbled across them after trying to wrestle 48 balloons from Party City into a Honda Civic and deciding we needed delivery from there on out. Every person that I have ever worked with there has been extremely nice and helpful, from suggesting products to cutting costs where we can. If I am unsure about something they will always email pictures over which is extremely helpful. Sometimes if I forget to call in an order before a big event or game day they will call me so I don't miss the window to place an order. The balloons always arrive when they are supposed to, look great, and last! They have a great selection of balloons for seasonal or special events and their balloon arches and columns are very impressive. Wow! I bought twenty long-lasting balloons for my five year olds birthday party, and the balloons were the highlight for all the kids (don't get me wrong, the party was a very fun one!). They were so pretty and made such a great atmosphere. On the business side, the lady running the business is super nice and advised me for quite awhile about products even though what I was buying was on the very inexpensive side for them. They also sell for large parties and weddings and so forth. They had a nice selection of party items in their shop as well, which my kids enjoyed checking out when we picked up our order (which I placed an hour before I needed it, by the way!) Just so, so great to deal with. Balloons will last over a week and kids are just really enjoying them. Kids really love balloons. I forgot that from my youth. I will definitely be making this a birthday tradition for all my kids, whether they have a party or not! read more

We had our annual convention in Chapel Hill this past weekend and needed some balloon bouquets. Initially we tried to go to a local store to get them blown up, but the entire process and the fact that they wanted us to do some of the work ourselves didn't really work for us. I called Balloons & Tunes late Thursday evening looking for balloons bouquets in our sorority's colors and our anniversary year to delivered to our hotel that same evening. Even though they were short staffed that evening, they still made it work! They delivered our order in less than four hours. The bouquets looked great and lasted the entire weekend! The service here was great! I needed a helium tank for a party at work, and I found Balloons and Tunes through a Google search. I called to get prices, and their customer service over the phone was amazing-- it was some of the best customer service I've ever received. The woman taught me the differences between the sizes of balloons and gave me prices for several tanks. When I went to pick up the tank, they also showed me how to blow up a balloon to the correct size. The prices here were great (much cheaper than Party City), and they even cut ribbons for on 2 cents per ribbon, which saved me so much time! It wasn't a problem to pay with a tax-exempt state purchasing card either. There were also a lot of fun party supplies available in the store. Today I got caught in the snow and chose to walk more than two miles back home because the buses were so behind it wasn't safe for me to wait out in the snow. I stopped outside this store (because of the large overhang) to get a break from the snow, and the wonderful women at the store told me that they were about to leave, but I was welcome to stay inside until they did. While I was trying to work some feeling back into my fingers, they were talking about how a few orders that were supposed to be delivered today weren't going to make it, and I could tell that they were genuinely sad to disappoint people. Before I left their store, they insisted that I take a single glove that someone had left behind, and apologized profusely for not having any other warm clothing to spare.
