They offer bowling and laser tag. They play fun music. Heard "Return of the Mack" 3 times that evening. They have a bar/cafe with a seating area inside and out. For one hour of bowling, 20 mins of laser tag, 2 free drinks (alcoholic included) & a basket of fried Dutch finger food for 23€ per person. Not bad!

The fun lighting on the alleys, music videos playing and the animated scoreboard made it fun and kept the energy up. I had a couple of glasses of beer (€2.75 ea.) and some of the finger foods. Nice bowling alley fare. I think they also had some other foods available, tosti's perhaps, if you need something a bit more substantial. I found it interesting that the pins are set using cables attached to them. They are like marionettes dancing at the end of the alley. I think once or twice I benefitted from a cable taking out some pins. It would be fun to return for more bowling and to try out the laser tag.

There are no dog parks on IJburg, so a bit jealous of this one, as I can only circle around it. No dogs allowed! (This is probably a good thing). This park is really a large playground, where kids can play football, basketball and other sports. There are several play areas, with different activities, suitable for kids of different ages. When the weather allows it, the many schools around the park use it as playground too. It's nice to have this available in this neighborhood, with so many children.

But I tried to be a good sport and put on the harness to show I was making an effort. Ha. It's very chill inside with lots of walls. You should wear workout-type clothes and rent the harness and shoes if you don't have your own. There are a few staff walking around if you have questions, but basically you're left to it, unless you're a total beginner without a more experienced partner and in that case you should book AHEAD OF TIME an introduction (I think it's around 20 euros - this is so you do it safely, not so much on HOW to do it as I understood - there are separate classes for that). There are changing rooms upstairs (without lockers, boo). There are lots of tables and chairs and post-climbing we had tea and some soup with nice dark bread. I like that they are open late as this makes for a nice evening activity.

They emphasize safety (as they should) and constantly do walk-abouts to ensure nobody is being unsafe. There are also plenty of places to chill out and rest (tables, chairs, sofas). They also serve food and drinks here! I haven't had any of the items on the menu but you could easily turn a climbing session here into an all-morning/afternoon/evening affair. Hannekes Boom is across the way so that's an option too. The routes are challenging but fun. I do prefer the coloured sticker system as opposed to coloured holds. Some holds lose their colour,some routes zig-zag onto other walls, and some routes placed in close proximity to each other use the same colours. I've strayed off the route a couple times and have wasted time & energy trying to determine which holds are mine. The people who climb here are also very awesome. A good mix of expats and locals all just wanting to have a good workout in a laid back atmosphere. Lessons & gear available for sale/rent. Try it out!

My advise first off is to get a ticket from a nearby newsagent/ ticket shop where for (if i remember EUR18 for a ticket to bo the the dungeon and tussards wax museum. I think each venue charge EUR26 each! Its funny how both london and 'dam are similar - basically its the same sort of layout etc.. except instead of a sweeny todd scene, you have a famous dutch 'nutter' scene. This little zoo is free, but I wished there was a donation box, because I would truly try to keep this place running. They had little ponies, pigs, rabbits, goats, sheep, etc. and a playground outside for the kids to play in. Inside had turtles, gerbils, mice, etc. and activities for the kids to play, almost like a museum on the inside. It's a bit outdated but considering it's free, it was still really cute. My kids and I spent about 2 hours here before leaving and it was a great way to have my kids burn off some energy.
