We used to happily drive 40 minutes each way for Sethu Curry House, it was that good. It was our…read more"worth the drive" place. Sadly, under new ownership, it has become a "should've stayed at home" experience. Last night, we brought my parents for what we expected would be a reliably divine meal at Sethu Curry House. Instead, we left 1 hour and 15 minutes after ordering having received nothing but a meagre portion of stale poppadoms and dips that looked suspiciously like they'd already toured another table before reaching ours. During that hour, we were treated to a greatest-hits remix of: "10 minutes", "Just more 10 minutes","5 minutes" "Definitely 10 minutes."And, as we stood up to leave... "10 minutes and it will be ready." ...All spaced artfully across 75 minutes. Olympic-level time optimism. The restaurant itself was close to empty(unless you count the takeaway orders stacking up and waiting just as long), so the delay was baffling. On arrival, I had to request a new side plate because the existing one had visible, scrapable dirt. The ladies' toilets smelt strongly of urine, the sink was dirty and grimy, and the room had clearly not encountered antibacterial spray in quite some time. Overall, the place felt grubby and neglected. I ordered a mixed grill with raita, only to be told they no longer do raita. That seemed to set the tone -- anything requiring freshness is off the menu. Neither the waiter nor the menu could provide allergen information, which in 2026 is astonishing. We eventually left because, frankly, we no longer trusted that anything arriving from the kitchen would justify the wait. It's genuinely sad. Someone has taken what was once a gorgeous, consistently excellent restaurant and managed to run it into the ground in record time. I would not consider returning. The only redeeming part of the evening? We crossed the road to Quinlan's Seafood Bar and were served beautiful, fresh fish promptly, in an immaculately clean setting, by lovely staff. Silver lining secured. But what a disappointing Valentines night, especially with visiting parents

He checks up on all the tables with a smile and warm sense of humor/banter. The meals are all cooked to order, so it takes a little time for your food to come to the table. This was probably one of the best Thai food restaurants I've eaten at anywhere. The interior was…read morelovely and well maintained with good staff. You can find parking at the QPark structures--there's no street parking. The restaurant was a little full, but not crowded so we got seated right away for a group of 4. Food was superb. They definitely do not mild down the spices--unless maybe they knew we could handle it ahah. Most Thai places level of spice tend to appeal to more..sensitive palettes if you catch my drift. This restaurant did not hold back with their spice, which I didn't mind. The flavor of the food was well balanced. I ordered the tom yum soup with chicken to start off, great tangy, sweet-ish and spicy flavor. Chicken was a little dry but I don't really mind it. I also ordered their lemongrass seasoned beef with rice which came with an over easy egg. Flavor was savory, well seasoned, spicy--balanced out well with the runny egg and rice. My table also ordered fried rice and a curry dish--everything was delicious and memorable. We may have over ordered because we had to do takeaway for the rest. The portion was pretty fair. The next day when I ate my leftovers of the lemongrass beef with the rice--it still was so tasty. 10/10 recommend this place! We didn't get to try their cocktails but they do have an open bar with some unique looking drinks!
