I went here to get my tattoo done for my dad in memory of him and his horse he once owned and Mia did my tattoo she did an amazing job she even fixed my two tattoos that needed fixed from the mickey mouse tattoo place I got them done at that didn't back their work and I can't say enough about this place the staff there is super friendly makes you feel comfortable being there offering you water while there they honour their tattoos for 2 months as well only charge a restocking fee after the 2 months is up not an hourly charge big difference getting a tattoo done in a studio than the mickey mouse tattoo place that is all about the money not the customer and that doesn't honour their work and charges for the hour to fix something so small I will definitely be back to see Mia at bamboo tattoo when I want more tattoos done as she actually knows how to tattoo nice work and I would highly recommend this place well worth the drive! read more

I have been researching a new tattoo artist and studio to get some new work done for a long time now and I have to say, I'm a new client of Bamboo Tattoo Studio, they are the best tattoo shop in the GTA by far. I went to a few studios and the level of professionalism exceeded my expectations. Upon walking in, I was greeted by Brandon. He was very easy to deal with and a HUGE help. Everyone that works there is professional, honest, and very talented. The studio has a fantastic atmosphere and is by far the cleanest studio I have set foot in. The original idea I had for my tattoo wasn't exactly what I ended up with, but I am so happy with the result. My artist was Maddy and she sat down with me and showed me her interpretation of my concept. I have a few tattoos now and I have usually just gone into a studio and got my tattoo on the spot. Maddy planned out the concept and design with me and opened my eyes to other possibilities on how to customize it for me. A lot of my friends have tattoos as well and I learned that you need to be more open minded and allow the artist to have freedom. I feel I got the best tattoo this way. At first, I was a little nervous coming to Bamboo because like most people, I read some of their reviews and I noticed there were a few bad ones. I was specifically drawn to the review about a finger tattoo. First of all, I have a finger tattoo and I was made aware of the risks involved when I got the tattoo. Fingers are one of the WORST spots to get tattooed because they tend to heal bad. This is not the artist nor the studio's fault and I think people who complain should thoroughly do their research before making a permanent decision. I am a business owner as well and I know first-hand that sometimes it is impossible to please everyone. Maddy exceeded my expectations and the tattoo turned out better than I ever expected it to be. Just got a cover-up tattoo completed here at Bamboo. I came to Bamboo after repeatedly being disappointed with Chronic Ink (Including the tattoo that I needed to get covered). I talked with Todd when I first came in to discuss my cover-up and he thought that one of his guest artists, Vid Blanco would be perfect for the job. I had already seen some of Vid's work and was excited to see what he could do. In the end, the tattoo turned out better than I could have ever hoped for and I'm still in awe about how much detail he was able to add to a cover-up piece. I've been going to this tattoo place ever since they first started their business and the service is absolutely fantastic. Very friendly and welcoming and always making sure you're okay. The artists are unbelievably talented and I couldn't be more pleased with a tattoo studio. I just got my eighth and ninth tattoo today and my artist Antonio was incredible.. always made sure I was comfortable and made sure I was doing okay through the whole session. Whoever you have driving your company vehicle, the jacked up red truck with your decals all over it, drives erratically, dangerously and obnoxiously. Luckily, I wasn't in a lane next to him but I watched as he cut off several people on several occasions without signalling and repeatedly did that dumb thing that aggressive drivers do where they rev as fast as they can to cut around someone and then slam on the breaks. If you're going to drive a company vehicle that advertises your brand, you might want to do so with respect for your own company and for the safety of drivers around you. Or take the decals off the truck so people don't know who drives like a roided up teenager. read more

Horrible customer service! This review is not based on the tattoo artists (which are amazing by the way) but is solely based on Brandon the manager he cannot schedule an appointment for the life of him. Unfortunately I was unable to get my tattoo on two separate scheduled appointments and wasted my time in both cases. My first experience with Brandon was very frustrating and I ended up extremely disappointed. In March I was scheduled for a tattoo I spoke to Brandon on the phone and told him I would need a skilled artist that was good at doing realistic work for the amount of detail that was in my tattoo. He quickly assured me that all of his artists were capable of this. The day of my appointment I arrived and Brandon appeared flustered and disorganized he did not have the picture I had sent him of my tattoo and when I showed the artist who didn't speak a word of English she did not feel comfortable doing the work on me. Brandon told me I would have to re schedule with another artist in two months time. I told Brandon I was not pleased and his response was "I don't know what to tell you" is that any way to talk to a client ? No. My second experience was my appointment scheduled with the new artist my appointment was scheduled for 230pm today. I got a call from Brandon at noon asking if I was still coming for my appointment at 2pm I said yes he then asked me if I could switch to 3pm and I said no problem as long as the artist had enough time he said "he will have plenty". I then received a text from the artist asking me to come in at 4pm. I arrived at 330pm and Brandon told me Mikey the artist was ready for me. We had all discussed in March that he needed two hours to do my tattoo and when I arrived Brandon had told him I was there for a touch up that would take only 10 minutes. Needless to say I left with no tattoo and was asked to re schedule my appointment a third time. read more

Please people don't be fooled, I went in here looking to restore and add to a tattoo on my shoulder. The owner of the shop convinced me there was nothing they could do with it and nothing they can add to make it work into a new sleeve idea. They then suggested a cover up would be best option and it would all work out much better. Now I'm stuck with a massive black blob on my shoulder and half of the rest of the sleeve and none of it makes sense. It's horribly thought out and poor design. I put FAR to much trust in this shop and I got burned for it, and not to mention the amount of money I'm now going to have to dish of for laser treatments to hopefully one day start this again along with the emotional distress of this all. The whole team is so warm and friendly. Love them. They are amazing at what they do! And they're truly different. They will consult with you properly. Unlike some places where they don't even care to ask certain questions. They just take some design from internet and ink it on your body. It's more about the love and passion to what they do. Maddalena is a great artist and is super sweet and doesn't milk the pain of your tattoo she tells you straight up that it will hurt which is great so you know what to expect! Bamboo is a great studio. Todd (manager I think) runs a tight ship and always returns phone calls and they are extremely accessible via email as well during the design process. I am getting a back piece done by Tye. He is very young, but a prodigy and his art and technique are very professional way beyond his years. I had the best experience ever! I did go with the traditional bamboo style of tattooing and I am telling you the result was more than I had expected. To boot it was my first tattoo. This guy named PEPSI did mine and was this guy every awesome. I was in and out within two hrs. I have very little if no scabbing and I just had some bruising because it was on my inner bicep so it really hurt. I will be back and love that place. Came to get my tatt at the shop about 4 months ago, everyone was nice and friendly even watched the world cup with them while waiting for Pepsi to draw my sak yant. On the day of my consultation, I was told that I will be charged 70per hour for bamboo. I accepted and they asked for $100 deposit, so I gave it to them. Now forward back to my story on the day getting my sak yant. So pepsi was doing my tatt, I took no breaks whatsoever. Then I believe todd the manager came downstairs to check on Pepsi and stalled him for 10mins from doing my sak yant, in my head I was pretty pissed off. Then when my tatt was about 90% finished, he came down the 2nd time and told Pepsi to hurry up because he has a next client. He finished my sak yant in 3 hours. It looked good and all till I actually took a good look at it( tell you about it later). So I gave my respects to Pepsi and went up stairs to pay. Todd the manager came in asked me "how much I agreed to on my consultation. I told him 70per hour, and he was like nope its 75 per hour. I'm like w.e sure. Then Todd was like,"you got this big peice for a steal, I can't charge you for that amount."($225 before tax)."I'm going to do it for $350 before tax." This Todd started to really piss me off. Honestly I didn't give a F, I was pissed and happy at the same time cuz I got my first tattoo. So the tatt came to $400.49 with tax and aftercare. ok so I gave him 300.49. Then Todd again was like "You still owe me $100 more. I said to him "I deposited $100 on my consultation. He denied it wasn't in the system again and again till I showed him my reciept. Todd was like "ohh we got the wrong John". What a d1ck... So about my tattoo, on the left side you can EASILY tell it was RUSHED. I would rate it 7 out of 10. I like Pepsi and all but he shouldn't be working for Todd. Ashame cuz I wanted to get more sak yants done, guess I gotta find someone eles. 2* Stars for bamboo tattt studio. read more

I have several tats from many places, and I have to say that Bamboo was the most unprofessional place I've been to. I read a couple of the 1 and 2 star reviews and my story is similar. The owner Todd needs to get his act together. I requested a piece and paid my deposit, and when I finally came after a long wait my "custom piece" was half finished and literally had a picture cut out of a magazine rather than drawn up. He just said don't worry it's just to give you an idea. ARE YOU SERIOUS?? then he let me know it would be about $1200 as it was such a big piece and it would look exactly like the design. I thought what design??? half was glued on. I let him know it wouldn't work, and left ASAP. I can ramble on and on, but remember when it comes to putting on pieces on your body for life, you deserve the best possible service and honesty. I could name several other places I've been that have this but you should do your own research, but beware of this place. read more

Really disappointed not only about the result of my tattoo but the whole experience at Bamboo Studio. I had scheduled an appointment for a big piece back in March and left a deposit, I changed my mind however did not want to lose the deposit so I schedule for a very small tattoo to be done. (Tracing a handwritten name no bigger than 2" x 0.5" written twice on each side of my ribs)This is not my first tattoo so I thought I knew what to expect I was not told whom I was going to see until the last minute, (my bad as I should have checked if the artist was capable of doing this). At the appointment I told the artist twice about making sure one of the names was straight. The overall experience was not great, I did not feel welcomed at the place, the artist did not spend any time with me more than the mandatory tracing the work. It was good I had some company other wise I would have been waiting on my own for a while no only to meet the artist and additionally waiting in between while the stencil was dry and ready to be traced. Artist finished in less than 10 min. I checked on site but to be honest I couldn't really tell, it seems ok from far. I got home to really look at it on detail and noticed the one name I asked to be straight is not only crooked but for some reason the lines are thicker and it does not match 100% the original plus the lines are not smooth at all. This is not something I can just erase form my skin so I'm pretty disappointed, on top of that I had to pay extra $69 dollars for a total of $169 for a job that took no longer than 15 min. In all fairness If the artist deserves the money because of their skills I'll be happy to pay that and even more. A really good artist in the city goes for $250 an hour so this means my artist at Bamboo goes for 679 for an hour? pretty steep for such a poor job. I had to leave a review despite I'm not a review person but this definitely calls for it. People may get the chance to do a better research and avoid headaches. I don't need to disclose the name of the artist unless is called for it. read more

I booked myself to have a tattoo done on Oct.4th Bamboo Tattoo in Etobicoke. The deposit was $50 and the date for the tattoo was scheduled for nov 7th. I asked the guy who took my money if I changed my mind could I get a refund and he said yes. The girl who was scheduled to do my tattoo said that she wouldn't work on the design til 1 week before my scheduled date. I decided to cancel my appointment so I called and they told me that the owner Todd was the only one who could do refunds. Strange. They never said I couldn't get a refund. Every time I called he wasn't there. Finally last week I spoke to his brother who told me to call his cell so I did. On the cell phone he had a message that said he would get back to whoever called. He never returned my call. Again the brother did not say I could not get a refund. I got an email from them saying that my appointment was cancelled. I called again today Oct 28th and asked for Todd and his brother Brandon said he was busy so I asked him for a refund again and that's when I ended up in an argument with him and him saying that no tattoo parlour gives refunds if there is work done. BS. There was no work done. He claims it says there's no refund on the receipt. Another lie because there is nothing on my receipt that says that. He tried to use the comparison with making an appointment at the doctors and not showing up so you get charged. If you cancel a doctors appointment with enough notice they don't charge you. I told him he was full of shit. I did raise my voice because he was being an asshole. He kept trying to make it seem that I missed my appointment. I know someone who owns a tattoo parlour and they give refunds all the time. I changed my mind about the tattoo for a number of reasons. This is just to let you guys know that if you are considering using this place the artists there are good but the owner and his brother have no Integrity. Of course you will not get your money back no matter how much it is. If you want a tattoo parlour with integrity go to xtremities in Mississauga on Dundas near Hwy 10. I personally know the owner and he would refund your money anytime. They also do laser removal and piercings. All I can say is Bamboo Tattoo get your s*@%t together or will be out of business very soon. read more

The artist is awesome, the owner not so much. I researched artists work and really wanted something from one of the artists at Bamboo Tattoo. I scheduled a consult but when I arrived she was busy with a client. So the owner sat down with me and went through my ideas, asked me what I was looking to spend and then said he would book me for 4 hours with the artist and she would do the design the day of. What he failed to factor in that the design took 2 hours and the tattoo took 4. So that put her schedule off for the day. Then during our session she asked someone to get her food which never showed up, so she had to leave, go get something and then come back and eat it. That added another 30 minutes to my session. What I failed to ask was how much the design would end up being. So when I went to pay the owner picked my the top end of my range. When I asked why I was paying for the 2 hours I sat waiting he said she was still doing work for me. I love the tattoo, I love what the artist did. But the shop is disorganized and poorly run. Hopefully when I am ready for my next tattoo the artist will be somewhere else so I can see her without having to go back to that location. read more

I first went into Bamboo tattoo in November of 2015. I wanted to get a complete sleeve on my right arm. Starting at my wrist and working all the way up onto my shoulder. I meet with Todd and explained my vision to him. It was to include a few items that make me into me. He recommended an artist he had coming over from Spain(unless you are getting a small piece. I would never recommend this to anyone). He told me he would be able to start in December and finish it by the end of December. Two days before I was to start getting tattooed, I went into the shop(after numerous calls to find out if the artist needed to meet with me). The artist sat down with me and I explained what I was looking for, he barely spoke English so this was difficult. He took a cast of my entire arm so he could put a design together for when we started in 2 days. My appointment was to start at noon the first day. I arrived around 11:45 excited to see what the artist had come up with. Before I move any further I have numerous tattoos and am happy with each of them and have never once ask an artist to change his design. So I walk in and the artist was finishing up with another client, even though they open at noon. So Todd asked me to wait he should be done soon. I waited an hour for him to finish. At this point I expected him to present me with a design. He then started asking me once again what I was looking for. We then spent the next 3 hours picking out material from the Internet with what I wanted, Todd tried numerous times to have me switch my idea for my sleeve. Finally at around 4:30 we had the design for the top half of my arm and could start tattooing. We still had no design for the rest of my arm. We sat tattooing until 11pm. I was happy with the quality of the work that was completed and very excited. Until 2 days later when my tattoo became severely infected. I let Todd know immediately. We had another appointment 1 week after the first appointment. We decided to tattoo the lower part of my arm and stay away from the infected part. I returned to the shop at 11am the day of my appointment as they asked me to show up early. I showed up, but the artist did not. He showed up around noon. With once again nothing designed to tattoo. I spent the next 2 hours as he designed the lower part of my arm. We started tattooing around 3pm. I have now spent 8 hours sitting in the shop not being tattooed. He tattooed me for 6 hours and I was once again happy with the progress and the quality of the tattoo. I returned the following week for another appointment. I was asked to come at 10am this time. Once again the artist did not show up until noon. Once he arrived we started tattooing. He tattooed me for 8 hours and we made a lot of progress. I was once again happy with the quality and progress of the tattoo. I then went back for another session 1 week later. We tattooed for about 4 hours and the artist wanted to call it a day. He was connecting the part of my tattoo that was previously infected. The new part became infected once again as I imagine the old infection was still present under the skin and still healing. At this point there was lots of fill in areas to complete and the white of the tattoo to complete. The artist at this point was scheduled to return to Spain. I was assured by Todd he would be back in a couple of months and I was ok with that and finishing the tattoo then. The artist never returned so 6 months after my last appointment Todd scheduled me with one of his other artists to complete my Tattoo. I met with this artist and he refused to finish the tattoo. He then had one of his other artists agree to complete my tattoo. I currently am "finished" my tattoo. After a 4 hour sitting with the new artist, he threw a bunch of black all over my arm, didn't put any white throughout my tattoo and called it quits. The tattoo looks good but is still incomplete(even though it was pre paid for). I will not be returning to Bamboo to get my tattoo finished. I feel like Todd had his artist rush through finishing my tattoo and put a bunch of black all over my arm to fill in any unfinished areas. You could tell the artist had no care of how the tattoo would finish as it wasn't his piece. In the end I learned a lesson and will not be fooled again. I have a 80% finished tattoo. I paid for 100% tattoo to be completed. I was infected twice. Also found out 8 different people became infected from this artist. I had a bad feeling from day one of meeting the artist and should've trusted my gut. read more
