But, our room was appointed in a thoughtful and caring way. The designs are simple and made the time to rest so peaceful. The rooms are comfortable and well insulated so the room was so quiet. Breakfast was perfect!!! Such a wonderful experience with a Menu so diverse and tasty. All Staff members are well represented by the amazing way they acknowledge you as a Very Important Guest. The other problem with the room was, it was fairly dirty with smudges mud on the floor and another sign said it was not cleaned well at all. We requested a different room, and luckily it was better, but I would still say the cleanliness wasn't up to the standard I was hoping for for the price point level of the hotel. This hotel is definitely built for conferences and gathering large groups. You'll find meeting rooms, coworking spaces, and a large courtyard attached to the restaurant. It's hard to beat the location across the street from a park and only two blocks from the main Esplanade in Helsinki. The star of the show is definitely the complementary breakfast experience featuring fresh juice, nutrition, shots, crêpes, variety of overnight oats, and several hot dishes with mini being traditional finish offerings. I could've spent hours eating at the complementary breakfast -the courtyard seating outside topped it all off. I will probably stay here again for the breakfast alone. However, I'm a big believer that no how no matter how fancy the hotel room design, if it's not super clean, it doesn't really do it for me.

The rooms are spacious and clean. Who would've thought an old prison would make such an interesting hotel? There's pictures throughout that show the hotel back when it was still a prison. Some of the bar doors are preserved in the halls and in the lower level, by the bar/restaurant there's a room that's quite the hidden find. The food is great! Not only is breakfast included but also an afternoon tea. Can't wait to go back and stay here again!

This former prison has been renovated and transformed into a new and exciting landscape with Finnish touch and Nordic creativity. Our gourmet dinner was exquisitely presented which included reindeer steaks and freshly cooked white fish. Desserts consisted of fruits and accompanied by red, white and Finnish wines. The restaurant dishes was a bonus to the beautiful reconstruction and rebuild of this former building used for criminals. If you happen to be in Helsinki, drop by this beautiful treasure; it will be worth your time.

The 7th floor is executive level and they have an executive lounge but like most Hilton's the lounge id not what they were before the pandemic and are operating at a much lower standard. Food is mediocre and the lounge isn't staffed so I recommend eating breakfast at the restaurant downstairs and not the lounge if you are a member status and have the free breakfast option. The buffet downstairs is excellent. The 8th floor has a nice indoor pool, gym and sauna's. Make sure you reserve a private sauna when you check in or you can join the mens or women's community sauna. Sauna's are part of the Finnish culture so be sure to experience it. The staff are very knowledgeable and will give directions and recommendations for restaurants as well as call you a taxi from one of the companies with the best rates. If you are taking a taxi from somewhere else to this Hilton note that there are two Hilton properties and the drivers call this one the Hilton by the seaside since it's on the water. Definitely recommend this place. The rooms were spacious and clean and it was a great experience staying there.

As I entered the hotel I noticed the dirty outside facade and tattered Hilton flag. We were given a low floor with no upgrades available. The elevator door buttons were sticky and gross, the floor appeared to not be vacuumed or cleaned in a very long while as well as a disturbing amount of gross water marks on the glass elevator. We assented quickly to the 4 th floor. Not the executive floor we should have been placed on and as I exited the elevator I began to sneeze and couldn't stop. The layer of dust that greeted me upon exited was appalling. Apparently, this hotel cannot reach certain areas and therefore chooses not to clean them on any level. I noticed the same on floor 7 when visiting the executive lounge which was small and cramped and the pool/sauna. Needless to say. I tried to spend most of my days out exploring instead of in a dust filled hotel where my allergies were quite uncontrollable. This was not the Hilton experience I expected not deserve for the money time and effort I am using for my holiday.

The toast was thick and chewy and so good, not processed tasting at all, freshly baked with good ingredients. Sat outside with lots of birds eager for me to drop something, but I ate every crumb. After completing some documentation I was provided my keycard and was given a guided tour to my room. The room was in nice condition and had a work desk which I needed. I turned on the thermostat as it was warm upon arrival. I attempted to set my room temperature to 18C but it would only allow me to set at 19C minimum. I went out to see the town for a few hours and came back and the room was still quite warm. I notified the staff and the offered to move me to a cooler room which I accepted. The second room was nice as well but was much cooler. The hotel is conveniently located in the Helsinki City Center and many destinations are walkable. This hotel has two places to eat, a bakery and a breakfast restaurant (buffet-style). I didn't attempt to eat here outside of breakfast as several restaurants are also located within walking distance. I can't say enough how polite and pleasant the staff is here. Four stars!

The Hotel is a 3/4 star rated and they had wines and crackers at the table, as we entered a dimly lit and small welcome and check in counter. I was assigned at the second floor and to my surprise, I had a huge bathtub and while we are saving water in California, they seem to have plenty in Finland. After all, they shared that they're surrounded by lakes and rivers, located all over the country. The room was well decorated, sheets smelled really great and the room was perfectly prepared. Knowing that we have two hours of free time, I filled the bathtub and soaked like a king, the water was perfectly warm and all the elements of a well- supplied bathroom was present. Yay! The hotel didn't serve breakfast so we have to meet at a nearby restaurant or order a special from their canteen. However, wine was readily available at their wine room? So, if you happen to visit Finland on a business or to do research, Hotel Scandic would be a perfect abode for a few nights. I appreciated the hospitality throughout the stay from messages before check-in and ease of check-in to having my luggage held as I explored the city a bit more between check out and my flight. The space was just what I needed as a solo traveler with a quiet room, nice views, sense of safety, clean space, plenty of high quality amenities and products (toiletries, coffee/tea and an in-room machine, etc), thoughtful storage built in, and a comfortable bed. It was VERY convenient to everything I wanted to access, whether walking distance to sites and shopping on my list or very easily walkable distance to public transit for further attractions and the airport. I did not add the breakfast option as I wanted to explore different local places each day, but it did look lovely and the space where breakfast was held was inviting. Having the rooftop bar to watch the sunset was a fantastic bonus! I can't say enough how much I appreciated my stay at Klaus K and would highly recommend for any future travelers. One of the biggest rooms I've stayed in Europe. The breakfast was amazing, so much variety, great fresh bread, coffee, hot breakfast, pastries, fruit. Way too much to eat! Super clean as well. They have a nice Italian restraint attached too, I had the best Affagato here. They have a small bar area by the reception, they have wine , beer and cocktails, and they let me watch the euro soccer finals here ! Great little place as I didn't want to Goto a crowded bar. Loved I could walk everywhere, and was close to the train station for getting to and from the airport. Great hotel, great price, great service!
