My daughter's vehicle was towed from The Archive while she was there visiting her friends who share an apartment. My daughter parked in the reserved spot of one of those friends because that friend was not there for the summer. Bandit towed her vehicle anyway. They claim to be open from 8 to 5, but randomly close for lunch without reflecting this closure in their hours. If you have your vehicle towed in or around Oxford, MS, you should pray that it is not bandit towing. My truck was towed for "not being able to see the date on the parking pass". This was not true. The date was visible underneath my own apartment complex parking pass. No one took the time to actually walk up and look. The parking permit number was also visible on the guest pass. Of course bandit towing did not take any photos close up of the permit. They only took blurry, distanced photos of the windshield. From other reviews of this 1 star company, it seems they prey on college students. The manager is in honest terms a "crook". My truck stayed with bandit towing less than 24 hours. I called the night it was towed and asked how much it would be to pick up my truck. I was told $200. This was a lie. I payed $315.65. Truck towing with this company starts at $250 so the price I was told over the phone was a complete lie. When I asked why I was not told this price over the phone, the manager threw a tantrum very comparable to an infant. The boot was already on before I could grab a pass. Got outside at 1:37 and he was ready to take my car. They expect you to have a pass in your car before you park. Hit was nighttime. The parking lot had many spaces. My son parked for 20 minutes in order to move things in his car. This is the absolute worst business ever. My daughter was at her friends apt studying, the tow truck driver had booted 2 vehicles, he told them $160 in cash then & he'd remove the boot, my daughter didn't have cash on her nor did the owner of the other vehicle, but he told her he was taking my daughters car first and she could run to the ATM, not sure why mine wasn't offered the same as he wasn't hooked to either yet. Long story short because it's the same as all the rest. They go to the ATM to get her $342.40 in cash the next day, which is a red flag to me that its cash only, but anyway, once they got there with their money they were told that one of the $20s was fake because it was ripped, it came directly out of the ATM. Wow! And, they wouldn't let my other daughter in there with her while she was paying, the lady said it was "saving her money" to have my other daughter go wait outside, whatever that means. Honestly it's so bad its almost comical at this point. I spoke to a police officer about it and he said that there's an ordinance being passed hopefully, that will not allow apartment complexes to have contracts with towing companies. And shame on the apartment complexes that do already have this contract, I understand that parking can be an issue, but it needs to be posted and not left up to the kids to have to let their visitors know. He had the after hours pass that my apartment complex, The Flatts south of campus, on his driver seat. apparently it fell off the dash board. We ran down there before he even put it on the tow truck and showed him the actual pass. he didn't have the time of day.
