The resort is very mountainous looking resort on the outside, in fact very inviting. This location is on the outskirts of the busy Canmore Town. With hiking trails to town or by the river. The staff very friendly and accommodating upon checkin. There is 2 levels of underground parking for guests. Upon arriving to our suite as we entered it was like entering a apartment full kitchen with counter seating for 4 and huge table, 2 bedrooms, 2 huge bathrooms, washer and dryer, living room with fireplace, a balcony with BBQ. Looking over the courtyard and pool. Considering how full this resort was with guests, it's very quiet inside the unit. There is a cafe connected to the resort called Black Dog Cafe. Note: stay away it's very over priced below par food with very slow service. Better off going to Tim Hortons down the road for half the price and fresh hot breakfast. There is a cute Deli called Bohemian smoked meat Czech Deli across the street highly recommend! Freshly made sandwiches and soups. In the Garden centre of all places is a Tea house with gourmet Japanese breakfast or Lunch made fresh everyday called Wagashi. This resort is very well situated amongst the mountains and away from town. Will be back in the future had a fantastic stay.

We asked for a different cabin to escape the road noise, but they were booked for the night with no options other than to change cabins the next day...which, once unpacked, was not worth the trouble. Cabin had a kitchen, bedroom, living room, and bathroom. All were clean with scalding hot water, comfortable bedding, and a functional and usable kitchen, which we used for our breakfasts and dinners. Road noise was better with all windows closed during the night. It wasn't bad-especially since I usually camp- but for the price, there probably were other options. Still, it was centrally located to the park, and we spent most of the time exploring, not sitting in the cabin. Not a bad option for outdoorsey folk who are grateful for warm water, a roof, and complete kitchen, but it isn't the Ritz.

I cannot fathom how these "cabins "even pass any kind of codes.... They are ramshackle and falling apart. There is a horrible musty old smell in every room and you can't open the windows. There is an old rusty fan in one of the bedrooms and while the linens might be clean, the mattresses look like they were at least 20 years old. If you're 18 and backpacking around Banff, go for it! But for anyone else stay far away ! We were charged $350CA for one night and turned around and asked for our money back - poor kid at the desk gave it back without a fuss and mentioned that our reaction is pretty common.

There's also a "food truck" which serves some food. There's a huge hot tub that's as big as the pool to relax after a long day of hiking. Location- It's right on the edge of town so it's super easy access in and out. Parking was just under 20 bucks but there's actually plenty of free street parking right behind the hotel. You can easily walk into town. Rooms- the rooms are adorable! They have a wilderness theme and they go all out on Banff. I could not believe the detail of the tiny crocheted moose head on the wall. So freaking adorable!! You can tell most of the rooms are designed to fit multiple people. The layout is probably a bit strange in comparison to a standard hotel room, but it's super fun for a mountain getaway. Loved all of the small details and the little connected patio. Couple small cons- the rug shed like crazy. My socks looked like they had a ton of dog fur. I remedied this by asking for a pair of slippers. I used the retro telephone and hit bedtime stories and got a long distance phone bill upon checkout; the front desk fixed it, but I thought it was strange. More pros- it happened to be my birthday, and I loved the personalized postcard in my room, along with extra drink tokens and goodies. Would definitely come back!

When you first walk in the lobby check in area is next to the large sitting area with a big fireplace that is hot enough to warm you but not make the place uncomfortable. The rooms are very well maintained and so are the walkways, fitness center, sauna, jacuzzis (2 large ones) and pool. The restaurant that is nothing the hotel we didn't eat at, but I ordered and old fashioned and it was good and strong, but no black cherry, but that was fine. The sauna was so clean and it felt great to warm up more in the mornings and relax in the jacuzzis after a hike in the evenings. The jets were powerful and the views from that area overlook the the mountains and the gondola an Norquay. This hotel was great, only one thing really, the laundry room at 2 washers and 2 dryers which were of good quality, but one was down. We stayed here for 6 days and i thought that was a good amount of time without it becoming too day to day feeling. 5 stars because we had a great time there AND they provided loaner bear sprays for all of us. I don't know if they can do it for everyone, but that saves you at lease 35 bucks for each spray that you can't take back in the flight if you do t use (and don't check bags). When we asked about seating, they told us that they could not accommodate with no explanation as to the difference. Service was a bit slow in the sense we were told hot water would come as soon as we flip the lid but it didn't. The scones tasted stellar. The sandwiches were mid. There were more sweet desserts.

So he drove us into Banff NP. We stopped at Lake Louise, Johnston Canyon, Vermillion Lakes, the cascade falls, and then we began driving to the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. What an absolutely beautiful hotel in one of Nature's most breathtaking masterpieces. The beautiful earth-toned cream colored hotel climbs from the lower mountain side and stands beautifully amongst the tall pines surrounding it. We made our way to the Vermillion Bar, where are post worked back in his college days, and were greeted by a super sweet server, Ayala, who lit up whenever she laughed and smiled with you. We enjoyed cocktails, beef, tartare, veggie Credit, charred, avocado, and a unique presentation of hot wings I've never had before - the actual wing that has two bones in it was pre-cut down the middle so you were served the 2 halves as their own individual wing. Great flavors and it was very unique and enjoyable. All of it was delicious and undeniably yummy, and fairly priced for such an elegant location. We were expecting a much higher price point and were delightfully surprised to see that even though it is a luxury location, it was not price gouging or ridiculously inflated that one often finds in so many other locations that are "elegant or nice". If you have the opportunity to treat yourself to a very beautiful sunset under the majestic Mount Rundle, and want to enjoy a modern setting in a historic landmark, this is absolutely a visit you must make while in Banff National Park. This two bedroom, two bath condo with stunning view was just the place to rest our road soar…read morebodies. First thing: It's as safe a Fort Knox, or at least its Canadian counter. You'll need two different codes and a fob to get into the place. Second: Everything is well thought out. We could tell the owners really enjoyed stocking their little slice of Heaven. Pretty pictures, electronics (TV, WiFi, small boom box), furnature, beautiful beds and very well stocked kitchen come together nicely and shows the owners have pride in their little home and desire to make your stay comfortable. As Dear Wife said after our first night's sleep, "This is a delicious bed."
