The only real complaint was the lay out of the seating. Some of the guests were off in a room that hooked onto the main room and away from all of the main festivities. It seemed as if they weren't even part fo the wedding during the introductions and the food. But of course like most weddings, when the music starts and things open up, everyone is together anyways. But the staff seemed to have done a great job. I had no complaints from my end. We had the prime rib and I agree with my mother when I say it's the best prime rib I've had in the greater Bangor area. The only place that has competed is Millers Salad Bar and Pilots Grill and both of those places are out of business. If you get a chance to go there, get the prime rib.

First off, getting into the venue is pretty easy with a couple entry points and an efficient screening system. The staff were all very cheerful and helpful. Every single employee I saw smiled and greeted me! We ate before going inside, but the food and drink offerings looked pretty solid. The sound quality was great, especially for an outdoor venue.

I was on a panel about suspense and the influence of Stephen King, and it was fun to have that event in the heart of Derry/Bangor. The theater was attractive, with a nice stage and a spacious seating area. There were some cool chandeliers that looked like crystal jellyfish. I gather that the theater is a town landmark and important cultural institution, putting on a full roster of shows when it isn't hosting one-off literary events. There was a little bar off to one side of the theater, apparently called The Stage Door. I hung out there with friends and new acquaintances before and after the panel. I got to try two cans of local beer, the Orono Tubular Hazy IPA and the Sacred Profane Dark Lager. Both were delicious beers that I never see at home. I had a lovely time at the Penobscot Theatre Company and am glad I got to visit on my first trip to Maine. I'd recommend it for all your Bangor theater needs, as well as any events about the great Stephen King.

We spent a rainy day on our Acadia vacation here. We saw two movies back to back and it was a great experience. The only reason I am not giving it a five star review is because the ticket and service lines took FOREVER. But, I am assuming because it is so cheap they don't have the money to provide adequate staffing, which for me, is a whatever. If i have to get there 15-20 minutes earlier than I already do to get my junk food in order to save the amount of money this theater offers while still giving you the exact same experience as anywhere else. I chose this one 11 times out of 10.
