One star is giving them too much credit…read more I am extremely disappointed with my experience at AJ's Automotive. My 2019 Ford F-150 was in their shop for 21 days. Throughout the process, communication was frustrating, and instead of feeling like a valued customer, I was made to feel like an inconvenience. At one point, the owner even suggested that my truck remaining at the shop was preventing them from servicing other customers, despite the fact that the vehicle was there because it had not yet been properly repaired. After paying approximately $4,000 for repairs that included replacement of the camshaft, VVT sprocket, timing components, and related work, I drove the truck home and immediately experienced a significant coolant leak. The following day, I had the vehicle inspected elsewhere and was informed that a hose clamp appeared to have never been installed, despite AJ's invoice indicating these components had been removed and reinstalled. This allowed coolant to escape and spray throughout the engine compartment, ultimately causing my truck to overheat. Since then, the situation has only become worse. I have now had the truck inspected by two separate independent repair facilities. Most recently, Keweenaw Auto informed me that while replacing the VVT solenoids, they discovered numerous additional concerns with the work previously performed. They found multiple stripped components, evidence of coolant leaking throughout the engine compartment, corrosion caused by the coolant leak, and other issues that should not have been present following a major repair. Their technician told me the truck should not have been driven in the condition it was in. I am now facing an additional repair bill of approximately $1,500 simply to correct these newly discovered issues before any further diagnosis can even continue. This is on top of the nearly $4,000 I already paid AJ's Automotive. What has been equally disappointing is the complete lack of accountability. During conversations about these issues, AJ acknowledged that their mechanic had been extremely busy and stated that "mistakes can be made." Despite that acknowledgment, they have continued to dispute the findings of multiple independent repair facilities. Since picking up my truck from AJ's Automotive, two separate mechanics have identified serious problems they believe originated from or were discovered because of the original repair. Rather than showing a willingness to investigate or make things right, AJ's has repeatedly insisted that everyone else is wrong and that their work was not the cause. As a customer, I trusted that my vehicle would be repaired correctly and that if something went wrong, the shop would stand behind its work. Instead, I have spent weeks without reliable transportation, incurred thousands of dollars in additional expenses, and endured the stress of watching my truck's condition deteriorate while trying to determine what happened. I did not want to leave this review. I simply wanted my truck repaired correctly. Instead, I have had to seek multiple independent opinions because new problems have continued to surface after AJ's repair. I sincerely hope AJ's Automotive chooses to take responsibility for its workmanship and works toward a fair resolution. This review reflects my personal experience and the information provided to me by the independent automotive professionals who inspected my vehicle after it left AJ's Automotive.

Not only is their work always immaculate but it also always reasonable priced. I have no problem trusting my vehicles with them. Nor have they ever tried exploiting my limited car knowledge to extract money from me. I have two luxury vehicles(Infiniti Qx56 and Cadillac Escalade) the maintenance on these vehicles can be outrageous at times. I've taken them to their respective dealerships to get issues checked and been told multiple times, well this needs to done, that needs tuning always major issues that need immediate attention. Then I take them to Steve for another opinion and he gives it to me straight. 'No, you don't need all that work. You may need a little of this or that nothing like the dealer says.' Every time Steve or John correct the issue, saving me $100s of dollars and never try to take advantage. Just recently the Infiniti was there for a oil change. Previously we were told about loose parts on the front wheels. They advised to get it fixed, estimated cost almost $800. Steve took the truck in looked it over and said that issues isn't there anymore. You don't need that work done. Like I said earlier I trust them wholeheartedly and was ready to pay that. Steve could have lied and took my money but he didn't. They are truly honest, ethical and trustworthy. Businesses, people like this are rare and deserve all the business they can stand. That is why I've been taking my vehicles here for close to 20 years and will continue to as long as their in business.
