This is NOT my hair. I'm a natural blonde

We booked this hotel for the last 3 nights for the end of an amazing Europe trip where everything else has been amazing (like check in early, bag in room). We were recommended this place in Brussels (sister hotel) and looked forward to a repeat experience. Come in here and less than hospitable, won't bring our bags to the room if we were to leave (will bag check), and everything else is basically self service. There is no 4 star hotel quality (which the rest of it was or above). You are wasting your time and money here. Self service bar, room is like a motel 6 and we booked above basic. If I come back to Amsterdam I will not be going to this place. Basic cleanliness is sorely lacking and the common areas are tired and unattended. The bar in your room is minimal at best. Book the hostel and save your money for a fine dining experience instead.

Check out time is 12 pm!

We were here for 5 days and 4 nights. On the morning of our last day a woman from front desk called our room and told us check out was at 11 and basically get out! June 2023 Omg! Thank you so much for Jay, young man at front desk who said no, not to worry check out was noon. I also read this on the room card. My first time in Amsterdam and I'm so sad having to leave this way. NEVER have I been called and told to leave! We loved the people at breakfast who went above and beyond. Thank you.

Fantastic top class Hotel! Centrally located in the canal district within just a block of Rembrandt square as well as the flower market and many other attractions like the RLD, Dam square and the museums. The room was very comfortable, the full bathroom was large with a huge tub with a separate large glass shower, we also had a separate 1/2 bathroom by the front entrance, 2 large comfy recliner chairs by the TV, large windows, super comfy bed - the slippers and bath robes were also a nice touch. The hotel has great Wi-Fi signal, the lobby is modern and also offers computers and ipads for people to use along with a fancy coffeemaker which prepares anything from Cappuccinos to Hot Chocolate, the lobby also had a beautiful fireplace, comfy chairs and plenty of magazines. This is an all inclusive hotel - the rooms have 3 full decanters (Whisky, Gin and I believe Brandy) and a stocked mini-fridge with snacks, plus a 24/7 help yourself fully stocked bar at the lobby with a fridge full of Becks beer, wines, and liquors, lots of variety including Baileys and regular juice and drinks. To top it off they also offer a Happy Hour in the afternoon and serve cold meats, crackers, biscuits, cheese cuts and other accompaniments. The staff is extremely professional and very helpful, they definitely made us feel at home. The breakfast (also included) was just as spectacular, they have a ton of variety including an omelette station, eggs any way you want them, lot of fresh breads, hams, cheeses, pancakes, more cheese, cereals, yogurts, waffles, fruits, bacon, croissants, OJ, and pastries, I don't think we could have found a better breakfast at a restaurant, and the breakfast staff was lovely and very accommodating. We rented bikes from a local shop and had an amazing time exploring Amsterdam by bike, but the best part is that anytime we wanted to grab a drink or take a quick rest we could easily bike right back to the hotel since its so centrally located. I loved the all inclusive concept! So refreshing and welcome! We most definitely will return to the Banks Mansion.

If I could've stayed here for just even one more night in downtown Amsterdam, I definitely would've, but our schedule was so busy shuffling from Bonn to Cologne to Leverkusen that if you don't have much time, you should book this place because they go above and beyond to make your experience an amazing one! My top reasons as to why I'd return: 1.) The alcohol is all inclusive and includes a good pour of cognac, gin and whiskey PER ROOM along with happy hour during select times for wine + cheese + olives. There's coffee, tea, liquor and beer that is accessible 24/7, so you already know this was my favorite spot to hang with my family after a canal tour, visiting Ann Frank House & Rrembrandt museum. 2.) Breakfast is included & absolutely phenomenal, very Dutch and the way I'd eat if I had more time in the morning before work to put together a small plate of cured meats and cheeses on bread with fresh fruit + granola. If that's not your cup of tea, there's an omelet/waffle station along with a juicer where you throw in a couple oranges and watch the gears crank & transform it into orange juice within a minute (pretty mesmerizing & magical)! 3.) The décor and precision in the lobby with fresh flowers and cozy fireplace as well as stellar customer service was really the icing on the cake. Shout out to Mickey for his kindness and beautiful smile! 4.) All three of our rooms were spacious, especially surprising because of expensive real estate and apartments in general are already so tiny in Amsterdam & our beds were so comfortable with what I thought was a large bathroom! I want to come back so badly in a couple years to see family during springtime when they have tulips blooming! 5.) You pay equivalent to +$250 - $300/night in the US without any alcohol or breakfast included, so that's only downside of staying here - you'll be permanently spoiled!!

Banks Mansion was a very enjoyable home away from home. The hotel was clean, the beds were very comfortable, room was very spacious, location was perfect and the inclusions made it worth the extra $. -Our view was great, we had 6 huge windows in our room that all opened up with a view of the canals below. - As other reviews state, there is a full bar with a coffee machine in the lobby, and a minibar in the room stocked with beer, water and some other drinks. Wine is available in the lobby from 4 or 5 pm to midnight- just serve yourself. From 5-6 every night there was also some type of snack, for example, cheese plates and crackers. - The included breakfasts are really good for hotel breakfasts- it includes the typical spread of meats, breads and cheeses but also includes a warm cooking station where you can custom order omelets or pancakes or french toast (available 7 to 10:30AM). Awesome fresh squeezed orange juice and a coffee machine. -Location was key. It was close to so many restaurants, bars, the flower market. It was very close to a tram to Central station- just jump on the 24 line and take it to the end. You can even purchase tickets directly from the front desk. We did have an issue one day with the power going out, but they were doing construction further down the block and several buildings went out. I would go out of my way to stay at another Carlton Hotel collection (they have several) based upon my experience at the Banks Mansion Amsterdam location.

Banks Mansion is a superb hotel. It has a wonderful location in the heart of Amsterdam's city center with a short walk to most attractions. The staff are wonderful and ready to answer your questions and address your needs. The breakfast is great, and having the mini bar in the room and downstairs bar included in the rate was a nice treat.

At any rate, my experience was great. Tasteful and elegant deco atmosphere. People singing in the street at 2:00 am, but that's Leidesplein. Chalk it up as part of the experience.

It hadn't changed since Mata Hari (First World War female spy) had stayed there. As we were visiting Amsterdam again I decided, on this trip, to spoil us a little. On booking I was a little concerned that the Hard Rock organisation had taken this hotel over. So with trepidation I took the chance. OK, remember, we are oldies so can be hard to please some tell us. On arrival, the outside hadn't changed other than the bar now stretched out a little and there was service from the restaurant outside. Reception was so swift by a fantastic bubbly young lady who sorted out a room although we were three hours before the normal signing in. I wish I could remember her name. Walking to our room I noticed the architecture hadn't changed but the decoration was wonderful with so much rock music memorabilia. We LOVED it. The room, overlooking the canal, was a lot smaller than years ago but, shrug, space has to be filled. The room was more than adequate with a wonderful bathroom with walk-in shower. Breakfast was in the dining hall which was a high-light years ago. I was so pleased to see that none of the wonderful art deco had been lost. The President Hotel in Prague had ripped it all out there, sob. Here, there was modernisation, but the windows, walls and lights remained. Obviously the designer had looked and thought 'wow, we can't get rid of this'. Good on him/her. A fantastic stay and on our next visit we know where to stay. Really wish I could remember that young ladies name because she made that day for us. Hi

As soon as my cab stopped in front, a man immediately came down the stairs to help me with my bag and escort me to the check in area. They asked if I wanted anything to drink and I said of course champagne! They gave me two! I checked in with Lisa who was amazing! She had me pick out a scent for my room. What? I didn't know that existed! Super fun! My room wasn't ready because I had booked late even though it was 3pm but I didn't mind waiting, especially when they gave me that 2nd glass of champagne. When I got my room, Lisa and Fae escorted me to the room to make sure I liked it and it was beautiful. I loved how the light came into the bathroom. On that note the bathtub was so nice I almost fell asleep in it! You receive welcome chocolates in the shape of Amsterdam shoes which were so cute and delicious! I ordered room service as the bar only served snacks and did not want to go to the restaurant by myself as it was really open. I got the Waldorf Astoria Burger which was amazing and so good! I'd go back to this hotel just for that burger itself. The next day I also had the breakfast and was able to get the whole tray of assortments and all the juices and coffee I wanted PLUS another dish! All complimentary with my Hilton Diamond status. I ordered the French toast and everything was delicious! Obviously I couldn't eat it all but was able to take some left to the room for later. I also had a spa appointment while here. Massage was great and the masseuse mentioned to see a physical therapist to help my lower back pain that I was complaining about as she said it was coming from my glutes, legs, knees. I've seen a couple of masseuses in the last two years in the states and one in Canada and NONE had ever even mentioned that that could help. I love this! Very professional staff. The spa also very serene with sauna, jacuzzi, and pool. They have a door to the garden which I'm assuming is beautiful in summer but I was here in February so it was freezing! When I checked out it was with Lisa again and she was great as usual and the guys helped me with my bags again when my uber came. They let me sit in the other room and said they'd let me know when it was here. Very nice. I did not want to leave. Haha!

You Get What You Pay For…read more I bartended for Hard Rock Cafe for 12 years. I love rock and roll, so when I saw this hotel it definitely jumped out at me. I will list the positives first since there are not that many: 1. The dayshift employee (cannot remember his name) was a very nice man. He recommended great vegan restaurants and was super cool. We actually ate at his recommendations for the remainder of our stay. He booked our taxi for us the night before our departure and was very hospitable. 2. The hotel lobby is set up like a bar/lounge with a pool table and it's cozy. 3. I liked the use of musical instruments such as a drum stool for a chair in the room and the drum light fixtures in the room. It adds to the theme of the hotel. 4. It was walking distance to a lot of cool places. Negatives: 1. Amsterdam is an old city with cute old buildings. I get it. We stayed at another hotel which was also an old building (and had a very slow elevator; but still had an elevator). This hotel had nearly 90-degree stairs to carry 50 lb. luggage up four flights of stairs (we called them ladders). I could not imagine anyone with a disability or elderly ever staying there for their safety. Literally, the stairs were about 4 inches wide. I slipped on them. sober. 2. The clients mostly consisted of younger hipsters that we could hear stumbling in at night after drinks and the walls are paper thin. We even heard someone fart in the next room. 3. To drown out the noise of the other clients, my partner and I used a rain app on our smartphone so that we could get some sleep (let me add that it was currently pouring outside). We get a loud knock on our door, waking us at two o'clock in the morning by the nightshift employee, telling us to turn the rain sound down. This woke us up and we were literally trying to book a room at two o'clock in the morning at a different hotel due to his unprofessionalism. It's like, how about telling the clients that are actually making the noise to be more quiet? If you are a young and do not mind the paper-thin walls and the ladder stairs, the disgruntled night shift employee that patrols the halls for noise, and have minimal luggage, then I would recommend this place for the location. Otherwise, stay somewhere else.
