This is such a lovely park! We happened across it while walking through Tralee and spent a good…read moreamount of time just walking around it and basking in the sun on a bench. There aren't a lot of benches so it can be hard to find a place to sit, but the grass is lush so you can always bring a blanket or towel and lay on the grass. Even though the park is in the town it's pretty quiet and peaceful. It's also fairly clean and has a bottle full station. There is a public restroom at the main entrance to the park. It is about average in terms of cleanliness and does smell a bit like urine, but that's to be expected from a public park bathroom. It did the job and that's all that really matters. I would love to come back here and read for a few hours someday.

Just a 15 min drive from Tralee along winding narrow roads and you finally emerge into a perfect sea-jeweled crescent. The day when we visited, it was windy but sunny and the shoreline was surrounded by mountains. The beach had lots of stones like river rock with unusal colours - not as much as at Brighton and much cooler stones. There were also tons of kids out on the sea, curtesy of two surfing schools!! I had a lovely walk along the sea and also hats-off as encountered the cleanest bathrooms I have ever been to. It's located a few ways up from the beach and no soap but gosh, I was impressed that all 3 stalls in the women's loo were so well maintained! Note: #249 of Yelp 100 challenge for 2016

There are a ton of cute little shells that you can find intact and wash off if you want a souvenir. The shops were closed when I visited today but apparently they may be up for sale and reopened sometime this year. There is a good amount of parking here and a very clean container bathroom with running water and no smell. There's a spigot you can use to wash your feet off with when you're done. If you have the chance I definitely recommend stopping here.

About a quarter-century ago, I sought the beach out on my first trip to the Dingle Peninsula and found it looking as magical as it did in the movie. Earlier this month, I returned with Jamie W. knowing full well that it was on our way to our overnight stay in Dingle. The magic was there still (photo: http://bit.ly/2ehwPGZ). It was close to sunset and the perfect time to enjoy the three-mile stretch of flat compacted sand that looked so visually stunning you would have thought someone intentionally designed the beach that way. It was fairly empty except for random tourists and hardcore surfers. All we did was walk out into the sand and enjoy the calm of the sea cradled by Brandon Bay. There were two stray orange cats next to the outhouse rather indifferent to our presence but somehow in tune with the peaceful environs (photo: http://bit.ly/2fc3yLz). Jeremy is always great for any advice. The other aspect of the business is the lessons. They do surf and windsurf lessons from various beaches on the Maharees. If you sign up for windsurfing you'll probably be taught by the man himself. Some people find him difficult to deal with :) but I doubt you'd find a better windsurf instructor anywhere in the world. He will push you to your limits so be prepared to put in some work.

Wide open fairways in a parkland style that were very easy to walk. Beautiful views and each hole had unique character. We had the entire course nearly to ourselves and if we didn't have afternoon plans we would have played again. If you're looking to do some real golfing where you don't have to wait for others and you want to enjoy a peaceful game then this is your place. We throughly enjoyed every aspect of the course and can't wait to get back.
