The tables are mostly vintage wood. They have a separate smoking room (without a door). The bathroom is well lit and super clean! The two times that I visited, I had no problem finding a table to sit at with my group of friends. When there's a dj, the music is audible but not deafening, so you can hold a conversation with friends. It seems like a bar to start your night off with, as it clears out around 1 a.m. They offer a nice pilsner as their cheaper draught option. If you're interested in craft beer, they have a nice menu of bottled options. Just ask one of the nice bartenders for their current offerings :)

The owner was so unfriendly, impolite and rude. We wanted to sit five people at a table, and the woman running the place started to argue with us. Then someone ordered a cider, and the woman began to argue with us about which type of cider. Never again. There are enough pubs in Berlin and enough places to go. I will never never never visit this place again. Sad that they are losing us as customers!

The bartender Micheal (German: "MEE-SCHY-ELLE") is actually the owner! But he's super humble about it and won't admit it unless you pry it out of him. He spent years in Miami learning his craft and has pioneered a "Cheers (TV show)" style approach to experience management. This is rare in Berlin. His masterpiece bar is THE BEST time you can have in Berlin without even knowing it! Why? Every customer is treated as if they are an old time friend COMING HOME after a long time away. This means that Michael (or the other bar tender Martin) might tease you, or even insult you, or seemingly act indifferent.... What they're actually doing is giving you a special opportunity to throw it back to them -- to tell your personal story, be honest and comfortable, and feel like you're at home with your childhood best friends. Do this!! Tell Michael your story. Open up. You'll get access to special off the menu drinks. You'll get special stories about crazy patrons. Seriously, the owners put so much thought into this place. It is beautiful and relaxing. The two owners, husband and wife, greeted us very warmly and offered to walk us through our options. Our German being very poor, the owners offered to translate the menu to help our choice of wine. We settled on a German wine that was recommended by the owner. The wine was perfect as we listened to Jack White and talked about how life was different for them when the wall was up. It was a wonderful night.
