The prices weren't horrific (it is Switzerland, so everywhere is expensive). This place may be fine in cooler months, but we didn't love it in the summer.

Having motorized blinds on the windows was wonderful because you could get the room really dark. Great for sleeping. The hotel is convenient to a grocery store and there are some restaurants in the area. Public transportation is very close by. Viking Cruises had a large number of their passengers staying there so it was sometimes hard to get on an elevator. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay.

Every single color in the multicolored rug was exactly replicated in the sofa pillows, chairs, tables, etc. I ordered something new that I'd never seen before--Hofgarten Sauer rhabarberschorle (rhubarb spritzer)--which was a refreshing change to my usual Apfelshorle. A bit sweet and tangy, it was a refreshing fizzy drink to quench my thirst after dinner. The NENI menu card stated free Wi-Fi, but I found the signal too weak to do anything. The restroom upstairs had tons of mirrors for one of those really cool effects where you see the reflection go on for infinity. The DJ played good tunes all night, which made for a very nice atmosphere to chill out with some friends for a drink and conversation. My only remark would be that the crowd seemed rather young on a Friday night, but that could have been due to the ping pong tournament.

I walked to this hotel from "HB Train Station," when I first arrived in Zürich. I wanted to explore by foot streets of Zürich. When I walked in, I really enjoyed the lobby (I forgot to take pics ). It offers a touch of historic elegance. Lobby area also leads to their own restaurant area. Breakfast can be purchased separately at the restaurant or at the time of booking. Once the friendly front desk lady finished accommodating a guest before me, she invited me to sit at the comfortable furniture by her desk, to check in. As she assisted me to check in, at some point in our conversation, I mentioned that I forgot my universal outlet adapter. She said, "I do have one extra I can give you for 10 Swiss Francs." It was her personal one. I felt bad she was giving up hers, but I was so grateful. "Thank you for offering me one, yes I will take it. I researched that it would cost 30+ Swiss Francs at a store." It was a wonderful first impression of the friendly and welcoming staff. Once I received my key, another staff member guided me to elevator and up to my room. The room was fairly small with a small bed, and personal sink, but for solo traveler, it's perfect. (All other hotels were more expensive and further away from downtown). You do share toilet and shower with other guests. Each of the three floors, offers few toilet rooms and shower rooms. At first, I was a bit concerned since I've never stayed in hotel with this type of arrangement. But, honestly, it was not an inconvenience in any way. I never had to wait for other guests. I had a balcony that I walked out every morning and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Every night, I propped my window open, fell asleep and enjoyed waking up each morning to chirping birds. Overall I would recommend this hotel and look forward returning.

I did get breakfast one morning and it's a buffet style of typical European foods. Eggs, breads, jams, cheeses, cold cuts, muesli, cereal, and yogurt. Delicious. With tea, coffee, juice, and water. I wish I would have gotten it the whole stay. I would definitely recommend this establishment. Especially for the price and location. Close to train station and many restaurants and sites.

It's a big building shared with two other Accor hotels, with a shady courtyard.

Our first impression to the hotel service was regular.. Added with more time for waiting since we came to early (12pm) for check in. So we chose to find restaurant nearby for lunch, by walk. Fortunately there was Nestor resto n we had a pleasant lunch.. As soon we returned to hotel (1.30 pm) n entered our rooms, we happened to feel that the stay will be very enjoyable. We had two connecting-rooms where the other room was larger with its spacious bathroom.. Free wifi complimentary, complimentary chocolates n delicious chocolate-powder drink, also gift of 'this works:sleep' in each room, clean bathroom n nice bath tub n warm/hot water, English-channel tvs, really helped us relaxed n refreshed in our home-away-from-home. Although I couldn't compare with other hotel in zurich, during my europe-trip with my family, it was our most enjoyed staying, added with impression of visiting Switzerland was our best experience. This hotel is located in the 5th district which was about 20 minutes away from the old town, about 2 minutes away from a grocery store (coop) or 5 minutes away from an aldi which is much cheaper. Parking for us was 23 CHF a night which was A LOT cheaper than other hotels closer to the center. It's 6.2km from the zoo, which you'll walk all up hill, take the 6 tram from the city center and it won't take you that long! There is a station located right outside of the hotel, which is super convenient! I loved the area we were in, it was very artsy. The umbrella alley is located about 2 minutes away, multiple places to eat, friendly atmosphere and vibe!
