I think maybe we went at the wrong time. Or ordered the wrong thing. Or maybe didn't order enough…read morethings. The staff was friendly enough, and the space was big and bright and heavily decorated. But I wasn't as impressed by the drinks as I'd wanted to be.
And also, on that morning, I had been craving a pistachio cornetto. It seemed they weren't not as popular in Verona as they are in Florence, so after a ton of Googling and searching through TripAdvisor and Yelp, I led my husband here.
Of course, by the time we arrived, they had sold out of the pistachio cornetto. I was disappointed, but didn't want to waste an opportunity to try something of theirs, so we opted for a sit-down service and ordered a couple of coffees.
I got the Viennese coffee and my husband got a regular caffe. I was going to order a pastry but figured there'd be enough sweet and sugar in my coffee that I didn't need to add a baked good on top of it.
The Viennese coffee was good - I liked the hot/cold combo from the coffee and the whipped cream. It wasn't the best whipped cream I've ever had - once I got towards the bottom of the cup it had more congealed than melted into the hot liquid, but what I had before I got to that point was decent. My husband said his coffee was also good, but nothing special (this after we'd just come from what we thought was the best coffee shop in Verona, so I can't really blame him in his assessment.)
