Food was good but not exceptional. Quite expensive meals for what it was. Very nice atmosphere and staff, great place to grab a drink.

Meat heavy menu. The salad with chicken was to die for. Excellent location.

We had just arrived that afternoon and were walking around our hotel to look for an early dinner. The dining room is lovely but not too stuffy or formal. We ordered the brown bread for starters, along with some wine and beer. I ordered the Arctic char (parsnip, chili, hazelnuts, browned butter and a soy glaze) and Paul G. went with the meatballs (hand-rolled and with cream sauce, mashed potatoes, lingonberries and pickled cucumber). We had the traditional Swedish meatball dish a few more times during the trip and they all came with the same components, but Bistro Bestick's was my fave. The sauce was heavier, velvety and creamy, and the potatoes were oh so fluffy. The berries were tart and fresh. I loved my fish, too... the hazelnuts, brown butter and soy were such a bright, unexpected combination. I enjoyed every bite. Don't sleep on dessert here! I couldn't even finish my dinner but still wanted to try the chocolate rum cake (salty caramel sauce, roasted peanuts, vanilla ice cream and crispy sesame) and what a delightful flavor explosion! It was beautifully presented and the sesame "cracker" on top was the perfect contrast to all the sweetness. I'd highly recommend BB!

We didn't have a reservation, but they were able to seat everyone that was waiting in the line out the door fairly promptly. Great service, and nice recommendations from our server...who, of course, recommended the meatballs- which came with some vinegar cucumbers, stewed lingonberries, and puréed potatoes. Nice sized portions and very nicely seasoned.

I really wanted to try something that would reflect the culture of the country and if this is it, I could stay here a long time. Such delicious food and while familiar still totally different. FOOD: Had to get the meatballs. I have to tell you, I had meatballs the day before and they were basically IKEA meatballs. These? Pretty amazing. Not heavy but filling. Not like Italian meatballs in case you were wondering. So good! My wife got this dish that looks like bacon pie and it was so awesome! There were many other things I would love to try on the menu, but I had to go with the meatballs and you should, too. SERVICE: Not impressed with the hostess who greeted us with disdain, but the guy at the bar who served us was wonderful. The kitchen made a mistake, and our order was super late. Our bar guy though fixed it right away and then refused a tip. He said the most amazing thing, "I'd have to give it up for offering you such poor service." I would have given him double. COST: Very reasonable for the unique and tasty food. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to try some authentic Swedish food.
