This makes the top 5 favorite bars in SP list…read more Location is awesome. There's plenty of action if you enjoy your beer or gin and tonic from the sidewalk; across the street is praça Roosevelt, where skaters show off their best ollies and tokers pull drags from joints. There's also a lively scene of tattooed and bearded men along with plenty of similarly styled (albeit unbearded) ladies. The gay scene is alive and well too on this happening block. The bar itself serves lots of great cocktails (my standard is always the gin and tonic) and the food menu hits the spot with snacks to wash down the communal beer. Kitsch is the thing here, so you're going to find lots of fun wall art and other decor. The vintage pop-up shop in the back of the bar opens up at night and offers a fun array of home decor and mod threads. The staff is the best, and I particularly love William. The first time I went, I left my wallet in the bathroom, only to realize it'd gone missing 20 or so minutes later. When I turned up empty after going to search for it, the bartender waved it in the air. I was seriously stunned to find every last dime was still intact. Go here any time and all the time. It's just the best. Great music too.

Yelp Review 2025 #167:…read more One of Latam's 50 Best Restaurants and Michelin Big Gourmand is A Casa do Porco or the House of the Pig. Aptly named since they raise their own pigs in a farm and they make sure they follow practices that are humane and sustainable. Feeding people with respect to the environment. They use the whole pig and nothing gets wasted. I made a dinner reservation a month in advance through their website. It was a simple process. I stopped by for lunch too and there was a line out the door for people without reservations. They do have a takeout window to the side of the restaurant if you want something like a sandwich. You can do their tasting menu or do a la carte. It'll end up cheaper if you did the tasting menu than a la carte. However, I have been eating my way around São Paulo and I knew I would be struggling to finish a lot of food plus, I had a 7am flight the next day. So, I ordered a la carte. I wanted the San Ze Pig (roast pig) but it's too much food. Torresmo de Pancetta + Goiabada + Picles de Cebola Roxa: Crispy pork cracklings topped with a thick sauce made with pickled red onions, and guava. You get 6 pieces. Definitely get this. It was crispy, salty and sweet. Sushi de Papada de Porco + Tucupi Negro + Ameixa fermentada: Pork sushi brushed with black tucupi (sauce made from fermented manioc which looks and tastes similar to balsamic vinegar) and fermented plum. It looks like unagi nigiri. You get 4 pieces per order. I was not given utensils. The items I ordered were meant to be eaten using your fingers. The interior and exterior seem very casual. There's graffiti outside the building and inside the restaurant. Even when you look in Google Maps, it doesn't look like it's a restaurant but an abandoned building. By the time I contemplated adding the San Ze Pig, I was already done with my meal and it was time for me to go back to the hotel. You can check out their menu on their website which you could translate to English to save time on making your selections. They also have menus in English if you ask for it. Service was great and helpful. It was nice light dinner.
