Situated in Vilanova's swish new 'Grand Marina' (see: http://www.vilanovagrandmarina.com) , this is a new branch of the Equus bar on the main seafront. The only entrance opens onto the harbour-side. The marina itself is aimed at super-yachts and mega-yachts, with berths available from 20m to 60m, so we're talking really, really serious money here
Correspondingly, the bar itself is suitably designer-conscious: the interior decor is what you might call minimalist rustic; neat, slate-stone walls with wooden beams inserted above, with slightly unnerving mirror partitions, and uncomfortably spare minimalist furniture. The main feature is the generous expanse of glass wall offering great views over the marina and its stunningly expensive occupants.
The lavatories have not been forgotten either, with swish ultra-marine mosaic tiling, infra-red activated lighting, automatic taps and a movement-sensitive flush mechanism on the loo. Even if it's not to your taste, it's beautifully done and spotlessly maintained.
Beyond that, it's otherwise a well-stocked bar serving a wide variety of drinks and sandwiches, tapas and snacks. Service was swift, although to be fair they were fairly quiet, as we visited in the off-season. Prices are actually pretty reasonable given where it's located: EUR2.50 for a coffee, 25cl beer, or a soft drink. There's an outdoor seating area for use in warmer weather, also with views over the yachts. read more
