We had traveled from the US to finalize all details on a prior trip and everything seemed squared away. The day of the dinner came and the actual dinner was converted to a "standing happy hour" without our consent. The staff hid the chairs in back of the tables against the wall so all guest didn't have access to it. I had a pregnant guest part of my bridal party that obtained a chair and they told her she could not sit and had to stand. The service was atrocious and as the couple we were embarrassed for this treatment because the dinner was to show our appreciation to our guest . Also it came with a hefty price tag. We complained and all they did was bring the chairs to the front of the tables and offered an extra drink at the end. It was awful and a waste of money. The staff needs to learn to be more understanding and solution driven. DO NOT DINE HERE. Pretty views but not worth the hassle.

The tour wouldn't book properly online so I contacted Bacardi directly to ask for assistance. They were very prompt in answering and helped me get placed on the tour. The staff online and in Sitges was incredibly friendly and helpful. The tour was pretty basic in terms of rum making, but the history portion was interesting. Next was the portion where they show us how to make cocktails. They demonstrated a couple of different ones, a mojito and a Cuba libre. Then I was shocked at what came next. Everyone was supposed to take a straw and try it as in the same drink in the same cup. I'm sorry, but that is disgusting. Backwash happens, friends! I was so grossed out. They did that for the next drink as well. What was left in the glass after everyone's straw sucking was then offered as, "Hey guys! It's free!" Seriously?! Needless to say, I didn't try these drinks. I think they should have poured them into little sample cups like the rum we tried or not have us sample them at all. Even stranger, I seemed to be the only person bothered by this. Perhaps everyone was feeling loopy from the rum samples? Then we made our own drinks which was more sanitary. I made a mojito and although I've made mojito before, their method was a little different, so I learned something. They also had that good ice which makes an excellent mojito, you know what I'm talking about, the little crushed ice they have at places like Sonic. The whole ten people sharing a drink thing really wasn't ok. I wouldn't do this tour unless you were in the area and have run out of things to do.

The answer is rather simple as the founder, Funco Bacardi Masso, was originally a Spanish wine merchant was born in Sitges, Catalonia, Spain in 1814 and didn't immigrate to Cuba until 1830. Though the records are rather scant, it is believed that he first started his rum, then considered a rather lowly and foul tasting drink, experimentation which he later perfected in Cuba using a yeast formulation, now proprietary and still used to this day, along with oak barrel and charcoal aging. Casa Bacardi has a rather small museum offering tours in English (be sure to select the correct tour) for 9 euros which includes a tasting along with your choice of a Mojito or Cuban Libre. I'd suggest the Cuban Libre as the mojito is concocted with a cheap Barcardi premix; not very good. The inside bar is very elegant, extremely pleasant but when having your drink, I'd suggest having it on the very pleasant outside terrace setting.

It wasn't too hard to find. The line seemed a bit long for that time of morning but moved very quickly. There area several different seating areas and types of seating. It offered premade sandwiches that could be eaten cold or heated in the panini press. European breakfast meats and cheeses. A large variety of pastries and donuts. Fresh fruit, two quiches and several juice and coffee choices. Restrooms were clean. Would easily use this lounge again.

Although, the lounge is vast in size the food selections are limited and fell well short of what I've experienced at other lounges. Additionally, the quality and freshness of the food was extremely disappointing. I definitely wouldn't consider this a VIP Lounge but would equate it more to a cafeteria style environment. Sometimes bigger isn't always better, which appears to be the case here.

There still was a line to get upstairs. Staff accommodated us with a table that had a view. A lot of young people purchased soda or 6£ drafts, No one ordered dinner, everyone was given spicy bar snacks. All were chain smoking & there were clouds of smoke on all sides of us. By at 8:00 the rooftop emptied. We shared a 30€ sangria & expensive ham & cheese sandwich with 4 fries. Our order was lost and then took a half an hour to get our sandwich. The sangria was tasty we had a glass and a half each but there wasn't much alcohol in it. This was the most expensive bill we had in Barcelona & it wasn't a meal. We realize we are paying for the view & sunset.
