I have been at this park for 7 years while working in the area. The office staff is always so friendly and helpful. Its nice to have a paved road to be able to walk on for exercise also. I have never had a bit of trouble here. Id recommend this park to anyone. read more

Nice little park - the sites are not level but they were well kept as was the entire park. They had all the necessary amenities and although adjacent to the Loves Fueling station the noise was not as loud as some described it. But then again it maybe that i am use to the sound of the highway as we use to live in the path of an airport. The gal was helpful and friendly. The bathrooms were clean and neat. All in all it was a decent stop for us and we would certainly stay again if we come through these parts again and read more

Very clean park. A little highway noise on one side and train noise on the other but, once I went to bed and turned on a fan, I didn't hear any more of it. Owners are friendly as are the employees we encountered. Drives are asphalt, spaces are gravel and could use some leveling. Appears to be a lot of long-term people but not junked up like a lot of long-term parks are. Utilities were fine other than most of the cable connectors didn't have the female fitting so were unusable. Have to walk across the street to Love's in order to have a dog park. I would have no problem staying there again though. read more

This is a nice park, drives were all asphalt but the sites were gravel and not very level. Seemed to be a lot of full time people, but sites were kept clean and neat, not like some places we have been. All the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful. There was no dog park, but Love's across the street did have one. The place did have cable TV, but the connectors were not complete and therefore unusable. read more

Excellent overnight stop. Large pull thru FHU. Park is clean and well kept. Some hi-way noise. Across the street from Love's truck stop. Short walk to Arby's at Loves, or to Freddy's custard and steak burgers. Checks or cash only, no cards. $39.50 with either Good Sam or military discount. (may have other discounts as well). Easiest check in ever late at night. Spaces are fairly level. The bathroom and shower areas are the nicest ones I've seen at an rv park . The park is close to the railroad which is fairly loud when the trains come through, but not so loud that it would stop me from staying here again. read more

This was our first time staying at Bar J, after using another park along the Interstate, when transitioning through Sweetwater. Sadly, extreme heat caused a low voltage condition on the lone pull-thru site we picked, and all of the other sites (they had good power) were reserved. I'm in a 40-foot diesel pusher with a 20-foot enclosed trailer behind it, we fit easily. The bus-portion of our gravel pad was perfectly level. I got a call the next morning from the office to assure me that my fee was refunded, and that their maintenance people had found that the site voltage was normal. This is not uncommon for parks in the dead of August: too many 50 amp customers drawing heavy loads on one branch will cause low voltage at the remaining pedestal(s). Count me as an enthusiastic user of this place, from now on. It is tidy, scenic, as convenient as one can get. It is literally next to a Love's truck plaza, far enough from the Interstate that noise should not be a big issue. Just like all of us with RV's know, stuff happens. A park is like a big RV. Kudos for their hospitality, for creating a nice park 3 1/2 hours from our house. ==================================================== This park is appropriate for all users. Really nice place. Great, spacious pull through sites, with full hookups. The Disney channel is a nice touch that our children greatly appreciate. Just off highway 20, but secluded enough to make it feel like home. Also, right across from gas station and some shopping. Just wish the dog guidelines would change. Even some cats weight more than 20 lbs. :) Will definitely be back if coming back through Texas. read more

The Bar J Hitchin Post impressed me so much that I thought I'd leave a review but other posts have already commented on much of what the perks are. I'll add my two cents. We used this as a one night stay on our way from Washington to Louisiana, so we came in after 8 p.m. after the office closed. Grabbed an envelope for an open pull thru. Price was $40 or $36 for Good Sam members. Site had 50/30/20 water and sewer. Gravel but generally flat and as long as your skilled or patient you'll be able to get your rig level. I didn't even need to disconnect my 38' trailer from my truck and could have parked another vehicle behind it if needed. Bathrooms and laundry are cleanest I've seen in all my stops and there have been a lot. It is located near the highway and walking distance to Loves Travel Stop but chances are your running AC in Texas which drowns out the traffic noise. read more

Front desk lady with short grey hair is rude and purposely unfriendly. She sits on couch and watches TV instead of answering the phone and then acts annoyed when you go inside to get the help you needed. Wanted to book 2 extra nights and she told me I was bothering her by coming inside. Then one day she came to my campsite and accused me in front of my kids of tying my dog up to a tree and letting my kids play outside alone. I told her its never happened and offered to show her we dont have anything but his leash to walk him with and she kept accusing me. She stated our car was gone on the day she saw this and the kids were outside alone. I informed her my husband was traveling with us of course so if the car is gone it doesn't mean both adults are and instead of guessing what she thinks is happening from the office she should've driven to our campsite to see us in chairs like were are now as she trying to accuse us of stuff. My kids were playing on the side of the RV you could view from the office while we sat in shade on the side facing away from the office. The dog was on a leash hanging out with the kids while I held the leash. Because she only saw the dog and kids she made up a story then came to accuse me of it. You DON'T EVER ACCUSE ME OF LEAVING MY KIDS ALONE ANYWHERE WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND OF A MOM I AM. INSULTING AND WRONG!! I finally had to say 3 times that I wasn't going to argue in front of my kids to get her to stop harassing us at our site. YOU DONT ACCUSE PAYING CUSTOMERS OF THINGS YOU DONT HAVE THE WHOLE TRUTH OF!!! ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE TELLING YOU THE TRUTH. She didn't want to hear anything just accuse us!! Rude! Unprofessional and hateful employees!! We got stuck camping here after our car broke down with our family going crosscountry. That stress is enough much less having to deal with terrible employees. Compassion is everything and I'll never stay here again from just that one employee experience! read more

Horrible internet and tv service for the 550 a month rate...we stayed a week and got transferred and only got back 300 of 550 for a whole 7 days there...not worth 550 a month when you get 10 channels of "direct tv" and 3.0 mbps of internet read more

Stayed there a couple nights ago and I was totally awed. Showers were the nicest, and cleanest I've seen in my last 7 yrs of traveling. Only stayed one night. There prices were reasonable and there sites were huge. They have alot of permanent, or long term sites but they were newer rigs in all of them and all very well groomed (not alot of clutter stacked around THEM).because of the majority filled with extended stay not many sites for over night so I would recommend calling in advance. read more

Should've took a shower and used the laundry room. They were very nice, and I'm kind of picky. I didn't check them out until the next day of our stay, and didn't have time to use them. So refreshing to see a RV park that takes some pride in their facilities, and keeps them clean. read more

This is the best RV park in Sweetwater. Very clean well laid out park with great hook ups, the owner of the park obviously puts a lot of time in keeping their grounds clean and the spaces leveled. The laundry room is super clean as well as the showers that they have available, comes with free WiFi which is a plus. The staff in the office are friendly and very helpful. This park is the best in town and I guarantee you that you wouldn't find a park like this in town. read more

The bathrooms were extremely clean as was the laundry (2.00 to & 2.00 to dry) Sites had wider than usual spacing, friendly staff, well kept, allows dogs but no dog park. We pulled in late after dark. The park had envelopes already made up with empty site numbers pinned to a map, so it made finding a site very easy even after dark. Our site was very level minor side to side leveling and we were perfectly level from to back without having to unhook our truck. Be aware the location is adjacent to the highway and a Love's Travel Center so expect some noise at night. Before rolling out I was looking for the garbage dumpster and an employee in a golf cart drove out of her way to ask if she could take it for me. Have visited several times it is handy if going to Panhandle. Never had a real problem until this time June 2018..made reservations weeks ago. Arrived NO RESERVATION.. so what I finally received was "well your just passing through this is all we have." TERRIBLE SITE mean the electric jacks couldn't level it..Overall the campground as too often happens has gone down hill. Roads where paved now rubble..ants everywhere, electric is not up to standards a surge protector will not open on their power stands had to direct wire for the night...dangerous to your electrical equip. Weekend employee did not want to hear about anything..NOT MY PROBLEM..call the week GIRL..Great customer service..but the are now becoming a full-time work campground.. read more

Best RV Park in Sweetwater! Has all the amenities you would expect to find from a high end RV Park. Friendly staff. Large, well kept spaces. Large shower areas and bathrooms. Nice paved roads. Just a really great place to stay if it's one night or more. Pet friendly as long as you pick up after them, and don't leave them out alone, they do need a leash. The facilities were well kept up; beautiful showers and restrooms. My main complaint is they don't seem to have enough help to run the place; the maintenance man was out with an injury and there was one woman (Lisa-very nice) who seemed to have to do everything. We came in on a below freezing afternoon, and the spigot was frozen, so we had no water available to us. We stopped here in Sweetwater on our way from Kerrville to Amarillo in our 5th wheel. This RV park is sandwiched between the train tracks, large truck stop, interstate 20, and a landfill. This is the noisiest park we have ever visited! It looks pretty from a distance with trees and grass but the grass is coarse and full of weeds and ant hills and the trees offer little shade. The roads are busted asphalt and the sites are also rough. I ordered something from Amazon with my name, the name of the RV resort, and address but when UPS tried to deliver it the gal at the front desk refused to accept it. When I asked about the package later she said, "oh ya, UPS came but I didn't recognize your name and told them to take it". Even though I gave her my name yesterday and said I was expecting a package! There are no amenities except the office lounge, bathrooms, and laundry room - all are nice and newer looking. The cable and wifi were okay. We will not stay again. If passing through we will push on through to Amarillo. I believe most of the other residents of the RVs live in them and work nearby. This place was pretty empty otherwise. read more
