We had a nice table for 4 outside. We ordered two of their cheese boards and some local red wine. The cheese board and local red wine was spectacular. There was lots of cheese to eat. We could not eat all the cheese. We should have ordered only one cheese board for the four of us. Service here was very good for us Americans who could barely speak French. The tapas and drinks were enjoyable, and we had a great evening. Unfortunately, the payment experience left a very bad impression. The card terminal asked me to choose between "Good," "Very Good," and "Exceptional" while the server was standing right next to me. I genuinely believed I was rating the service, but I later realized those options were actually different tip amounts. I found this confusing and misleading. In France, where service is generally included, I wasn't expecting a tipping prompt presented this way. If tips are optional, the terminal should simply say "Would you like to leave a tip?" and clearly show the amounts or percentages. That would be much more transparent. I hope the restaurant considers changing this, because it spoiled what was otherwise a pleasant experience.
