Had a nice lunch here while strolling the promenade. Very hip and happening place and the prices are semi-reasonable for the area. Cheesy 80s music plays in the background whilst you dine and get optimal people watching and views of the ocean. I had the tempura shrimp and nachos w/guac. The tempura was really good, the "guac" just okay but the chips that it came with were awesome. I also had a frozen strawberry daiquiri, and while the presentation was very nice, the taste was very bland and blah; very little alcohol, I couldn't even taste the strawberry. It was like frozen ice with sugar. I usually don't like frozen drinks and this is why. Lesson learned again. Anyway definitely worth a visit, if only for drinks and a nice view.

Total tourist garbage food. Frozen bag of potatoes with ball park canned cheese.... "frites au cheddar" French culinary skills are on point! (Sarcastic) Drinks are the 90% of their menu and that's what you should be here for......nothing else.

Absolutely brilliant service, food and fantastic view. Beachfront location, great dj, chilled out place to drink and have tapas even on a Tuesday night! We went on a Tuesday evening and the service was quick and smiley, great local crowd and the odd tourist. Quite a few vegetarian options available and a good selection of both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. There is a dj on all days of the week and they play good background music, doesn't overpower the environment. The only downside is the terrace can get rather smokey so if you aren't used to that environment it may be a bit uncomfortable whilst outside having food etc.

    Great cheese and drinks

Great place for after meal "wine" down. The proprietress was fun and energetic and set us up with some very potent cognacs. You can also but the various wines and such to take home. Give them a try

La Grande Cave is a winestore where you can enjoy your bottle as it is or togother with light food…read more Selection of wines is small, but good. They have everything from full bodied red wines, whites, rosé and Champagne. You buy the bottle in the store. If you would like to enjoy the bottle at La Grande Cave or just have a glass of the bottle, corkage is €8. The light food is well presented, is of high quality and is very individual depending on the waiter. One dish can be garnished with paprika and strawberries by one and with tomatoes by another. Interesting and authentic! You can also buy wine by the glass. They have red/white/rosé of the day for about €8 with higher quality than neighboring restaurants. The winestore/bar has about 6 small tables in a steep alley located in central Villefranche. During high season there is a calm flow of people strolling by. The environment is beautiful with a glimpse of the harbour. This is a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. Maybe buy a bottle, have a glass of it and finish it with dinner at home or at a restaurant nearby?
