Food: The food was average but not too expensive. We got the Cheese Fries, Truffled Ham & Cheese Sandwich & Cod Accras. The cheese fries were good but came in a cone so they got soggy under the cheese very quickly. The sandwich was tasty, though there wasn't much cheese. The cod accras were wet damp balls of fish that were then fried. I would not recommend. Venue: This is a delightful venue, though. There's two levels. The downstairs has more traditional bar seating and an outdoor patio. The upstairs has "club" seating with high tops and plush chairs surrounding lower coffee tables. Had a nice lunch here while strolling the promenade. Very hip and happening place and the prices are semi-reasonable for the area. Cheesy 80s music plays in the background whilst you dine and get optimal people watching and views of the ocean. I had the tempura shrimp and nachos w/guac. The tempura was really good, the "guac" just okay but the chips that it came with were awesome. I also had a frozen strawberry daiquiri, and while the presentation was very nice, the taste was very bland and blah; very little alcohol, I couldn't even taste the strawberry. It was like frozen ice with sugar. I usually don't like frozen drinks and this is why. Lesson learned again. Anyway definitely worth a visit, if only for drinks and a nice view. read more

Absolutely brilliant service, food and fantastic view. Beachfront location, great dj, chilled out place to drink and have tapas even on a Tuesday night!We went on a Tuesday evening and the service was quick and smiley, great local crowd and the odd tourist. Quite a few vegetarian options available and a good selection of both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. There is a dj on all days of the week and they play good background music, doesn't overpower the environment. The only downside is the terrace can get rather smokey so if you aren't used to that environment it may be a bit uncomfortable whilst outside having food etc. read more

Cool spot along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice. We basically had bar food with a French twist and I honestly think if drinks and bar food to share is what you're looking for, then this restaurant should get 4 stars. I just couldn't live with myself giving this more than 3 stars when I gave Alain Ducasse's Le Jules Verne only 4... The ratatouille was decent, the potato fries were, potato fries. There were chicken kabobs that were recommended to us, but it just seemed like chick teriyaki on a stick. The one REALLY bright spot was this baked-brie bowl they served. It was an awesome temperature and we basically dipped all of our fries in there lol. At one point a 4 piece band off the street walked up to where we were sitting and performed a song for the restaurant. I couldn't tell if they were hired or not, but they just did one song and then walked away lol. It was a really fun time and I would have been cool with them staying. Finally, I asked them to make us a shot that was recommended and that all the locals like. They gave us a bourbon that had whole bananas soaked in it . It was really good and tasted kind of like Fireball whiskey. Overall, great outdoor spot for drinks, but I wouldn't recommend it as a place to decide on if you are looking for a great MEAL in Nice. read more

Cool spot on the Promenade de Anglais outside Old Town. We sat outside on the 2nd floor overlooking the water and boardwalk. Cocktails and beer are ok, however a great place for watching the sun set and all the people walking by. read more

We were attracted to Ark because of the lovely terrace looking out over the sea. We instantly regretted our choice. We were greeted by the waitress shouting at us and saying that four of us couldn't sit on a four person table outside because it was too small. After some back and forth, with me telling her that surely that was our problem, the waitress won the showdown. We ended up sitting on a table inside on a beautiful day, with no view of the sea :'( As we were in a rush, we decided to stay. The food was alright, although overpriced. The service was pretty crap and slow, and although one of the waitresses was nice, the original one was pretty horrible. I would recommend you visit De Più, slightly further to the West down the coast, instead. read more

Do yourself a favor and walk 300 feet to Waka Bar and eat there. Same view, same vibe, amazing food and kind staff. We ate back to back at Movida and then Waka Bar and there was no comparison. Rude waiter at Movida ruined our entire dining experience and food was average to below average. At waka bar we had such a better time, fresh food. read more

Cool spot overlooking the water around the corner from the flower market. We visited on one of the few wet and wild days in Nice and it was perfect to relax in. The place has two areas, downstairs which had live music and was generally more loud and youthful; and upstairs where you can eat, drink and share a more quiet conversation. The tapas was good value as they are quite large servings (we ordered four for the two of us and didn't finish them) and the wine is reasonably priced for Nice. Only downside was the service, hard to get their attention once you have placed your first order...but once you do they are happy to help in any way they can. In terms of tapas I would recommend the chucuterie (great value for 8 euros) and the baked cheese with truffle (6 euro and it comes with wedges). A cool place to spend your day...especially if it is warm so you can take advantage of the upstairs balcony. read more

The staff here are incredibly mean to Americans. The manager on the top floor humiliated us within the first 2 minutes of walking in by yelling at us loudly for not being able to sit at a certain table even though there was open seating. Once he sat us where he thought appropriate, we asked if we could change tables because one chair was a stool, and my friend has a bad back and needs the back support. He said no, even though other patrons were able to sit at bigger tables with only parties of two as well. Once I asked him why only we couldn't, he started fastly ranting and talking over me loudly about how if we're not happy we can leave and giving very nonsensical reasons to why we must sit in the back corner with a stool. I said that doesn't make sense, so he angrily took our menus away from us and kicked us out... over a simple question. We ended up eating on the lower level where he couldn't see us, and the food was incredibly average. Do yourself a favor, and skip this mediocre tapas bar. read more
