Based on my research the zirconia arches are under a $1000 each and implants are available for under $100 each. I let them know on the phone that I had a hard limit of $20k for this procedure but they still asked me come in anyway. After pleasantries, I reiterated my hard limit and they continued to go through the imaging process. In the end they presented an itemization that added up to over $72k and then graciously reduced that, by doing nothing, to just under $50k. The Hippocratic oath indicates a doctor should do no harm. That should include psychological and financial harm. Based on my calculations they are attempting a profit margin of ~1000%. Had they been honest and transparent I would have respectfully accepted the fact they could not meet my price point. Instead they had me take a day off work, drive 5 hours, and waste my time. This office needs to respect their clients more and reconsider their ethics. example retail dental supply pricing. I encourage you to do some web searching to explore the supply side pricing of these components. Be warned; it will infuriate you.
