This was a horrible place. It was dirty and unkempt. They moved me into a room with no working air…read moreconditioning at the end of June where I was hot and uncomfortable. Overall, 95% of the nursing staff was extremely rude, unprofessional and extremely lacking of compassion and empathy which I feel is an important aspect of care especially in the psychiatric population which is a little more vulnerable and sensitive. I arrived in the ED on Friday afternoon and my first meal tray was not given to me until Sunday morning. When I asked for dinner on Saturday evening after being transferred to my permanent room, a tech lied and said she woke me up three times to eat. I was never offered any food or woken up and at this point so I began to cry because I was so hungry and frustrated with the care here. I was then told that I wasn't being fed because "the doctor never ordered me a diet." I felt like a prisoner and completely helpless. A tech/ aide by the name of Danielle should be recognized for her kindness as she placed her hand on my shoulder and promised me that she was coming back in the morning and would make sure that I got fed. I was thankful for this tech because no one else that works there cares about human life or wants to do a good job. Danielle gave me one of the premade sandwiches they hand out for snacks and she helped to calm me down when I became upset. There was also a lot of commotion going on during my hospitalization that made me feel unsafe. A patient charged down the hall at another person and while staff intervened, another patient punched the guard in the mouth and they called the police for the guard to press charges against the patient as his mouth was bleeding all over. I was sent to this place for stress and anxiety and if anything my anxiety was heightened by the chaos and cruelty from the staff. The staff did not care. The doctor also prescribed me (a person who never took benzodiazepines previously) 2mg Ativan dose which made me feel high/drunk. I had to request half the dose when the second dose of medication was brought to me. 2mg is not an appropriate starting dose of Ativan and I felt appalled that I had to point this out to both the nurses and the doctors who acted like i was being a fuss/difficult for advocating for myself and my safety.

Horrible treatment. They detox you of medicine that you're prescribed and expect you to magically…read morecome back for treatment poorly medicated and screaming like a banshee with anxiety. I hope they close this place down and soon. Worst possible treatment. Worst possible town. Go to Mirmont.
