I can't say enough good things about our experience with Captain Chris! I chartered a 8-hour, 6-person pontoon fishing trip with Chris in the latter part of July which reportedly isn't typically the best season for hauling in a lot of catches. Captain Chris was punctual and tenacious - he came incredibly well-prepared for all methods of catching a wide variety of species and his boat was equipped with top of the line technology to have a little more than luck on our side for a good day's haul. We were picked up directly from our dock, enjoyed a full day on a comfortable, clean boat, and caught a lot of catfish, crappie and bass. The only items we brought were a cooler of beers, some sandwiches and snacks, sunscreen and some light outer-wear for the breeze - everything else from bait to reels and water/soft drinks was provided. Chris was not a clock-watcher and really ensured a full and satisfied experience before taking us back to his dock where he cleaned our catch while we enjoyed his dock-lounge over a few beers before taking us back home. The day was care-free and fun, we really got to enjoy all the best parts of fishing and only had to do the technical/dirty work when we elected to. We had the absolute best time fishing with Chris. He knew right were to go, walked us through every step, was so patient and helpful with the kids, and we caught a boatload of fish. Not only that, but he knew so much about the lake, area and history, that we all came away with a new appreciation for Lake of the Ozarks, and with lots of great tips and recommendations unrelated to fishing that enhanced our whole vacation. We were a bit worried that our kids, the youngest is 10, would be bored by the fourth hour, but Chris was so fun that we could have done another four. Another great thing about Chris' service is that he accommodates larger groups--up to six--than anyone else on the Lake. My wife, our 3 boys, and I were at the lake this past weekend for an outing with Captain Chris Barber. He was very professional and did everything he could to ensure that we had a great day on the water. Very knowledgeable not only on the topic of fishing but of the lake and the area as well. When the bites slowed down a bit, he was quick to share some good fishing insight or a quick story about the lake. He was very patient and helpful with our boys when they needed assistance, but also hands off enough to let them go it alone when they had things figured out. He genuinely cared about making sure we had a great time out on the lake. All I can say amazing. Chris is a fabulous guide. He worked with us when the weather didn't cooperate we were able to go out later after the rain. Chris knows his fishing and he is super down to earth. We had a great day. We caught our limit and he really does care about his customers. My son and I had a great day on the water with captain Mike Doll. He put us on some really nice blue cats biggest one was 37 inches and over 20 pounds within an hour of being on the water.
