No appointment needed, just walk in. It's cool that the shop's location is over 100 years old, but he's done a lot to overhaul it to feel modern. Plus he's a really nice guy, and it's great to support local businesses. Not just for the fellas, he also has a hairdresser who does women's cuts and color. Located right on Newkirk Plaza, just a few steps to the B + Q trains. Highly recommended!

The overall vibe in there is not very inclusive as far as barbershops go but hey I just need a weekly haircut. My impression of this place is that it has good barbers that don't value their customers. On a couple of occasions I have come into this place in the evening and there are only 2 barbers there. The hours posted are Monday - Thursday 10am-9pm; Friday - Saturday 10am-10pm and Sunday 10am-7pm. Good luck getting a haircut on a slow day, (i.e. Monday or Tuesday) unless you know them personally. Barbers can never give you a schedule of when they will be in. You can call or text them but most of the time you never get a response. Once I asked what time will you be in on Saturday and I was told it depends how my Friday night goes. I find that to be an unacceptable response when you are offering a service. But hey others tolerate it and it seems to be their standard practice. It's sad that you have to chase down barbers to perform a service that they are being paid for. Maybe if they begin to lose their clientele then they will get their act together. For me I'm going where I am valued as a customer and advise you to do the same.
