Known for kebabs, shawarmas, and burgers, Yum Yum also does deep fried mars bars, which I noticed when I first went up the steps of the Close with their outdoor sign. Being that Edinburgh is one of the few areas that have spots that make these, I was happy to see Yum Yum did it. I'm basing my review off of my order experience. It was made quickly. Payment was fast. And the mars bars was decent. If I was drunk, I would probably be foodgasming more. But I will say, it was very good and pleased I was able to experience while I was in town.

Service is quite fast as well, you don't need to wait long for your food which is always at least warm. The fries are the best, they're salty but not too salty. The burgers are always okay, but seemingly a bit squished, but that doesn't knock me off. They offer drinks just like coke but also coffees, smoothies or whatever and drinks for your kids. It's always quite busy whenever I go. The atmosphere and surroundings while you are inside is a bit loud and filled with people. If you don't want to deal with that, there are seats which are offered outside. Overall, I like mcdonalds. Although, one time i puked all my food up because of a fly going into my mouth (I ate it) unexpectedly. Not a nice experience that day, but the other days are overall fine! I had expected a dirty, greasy place but was very pleased to see that it was exceptionally clean and there was one member of staff who seemed to be engaged in full-time cleaning duties of the restaurant. Our food was basic but very tasty, and there was some nutritional info on a leaflet given to us with the tray which again surprised me as it was nowhere as bad as I had expected - my entire meal had approx 600 calories. They also have a drive-in service which is very popular - we watched dozens of cars passing through while we ate. Although I never thought I'd say it, I would highly recommend stopping off here for a very cheap and cheerful lunch - it's a lot better than I expected!

The staff are quite knwledgeable about their menu and they seem to have more special offers on here than in other McD's. The restaurant isn't that big and if you can get one of the armchairs when you sit down as they are really comfy. The restaurant is clean and tidy although the only views is of the car park and the hotel next door, you can't actually see the bridges from here. The toilets, same as any other McD's toilets I'm afraid quite disgusting although these ones are in a better state than some and you see someone going in and cleaning them every 20 minutes if they are really busy! I love that the outside of the building is painted pink like a pig (coincidence? Probably not). This is a good place to try for a quick, cheap and yummy sandwich. They do this one thing very well. Alas, it's still a McDonalds and my spontaneous chips (chips and coffee is totally a thing) have had the usual negative effects (6 weeks breakout free, then I had some McDonalds chips!)
