    Chicken shawarma
    Roshan R.

I and my wife tried the chicken shawarma and chicken gyro. Oh my! The quantity was a lot! You can customize it with the sauces you want and they have quite a few sauce and veggie filling options. We loved the flavor of the chicken. It was cooked really well and very well seasoned.

Yum Yum is actually yummy, especially for late night food. I was craving some greasy pizza to fill me up after all the drinking and stumbled upon this spot. Although I was a bit intoxicated, the gentlemen taking our orders and helping us decide what to order were incredibly friendly and sweet. I appreciate them dealing with drunk people coming in here. Anyways, I ordered the Lamb Shawarma in a Wrap (£6.50) and also split a 9'' Spicy Chicken and Chilis Pizza (£6) with a friend. Let me tell you, the lamb wrap alone was already more than enough for one. To add, this shawarma wrap was so delicious as well! I loved the tender pieces of lamb mixed with the sauces, onions, red cabbage, tomatoes, and lettuce for a well balanced meal. The veggies added a nice crunch with the tender meat all wrapped perfectly together. Let's not forget to mention the pizza either, which was thick, cheesy, and topped with plenty of chicken and chilis. You can see the crispy cheese top from the oven grill, which was nicely done. Whether you're drunk or sober, you'll definitely find a yummy and hearty fast food meal here.

Yum Yum!! This place holds a special spot in my oft drunken heart. After a long night out (as most nights are in Scotland...if you're doing things right that is), I would routinely found myself in need of a falafel/Donner (as one does), but had no idea where to start my quest for greasy nirvana. Now if you don't know, not all chip shops are created equally; they all lure you in with the heavenly aroma only triple fried meat and potato can make, but few live up to the hype. You could try one of the small ones on Rose Street, or stand in line with tourists on the Mile, but you'll end up with basically the same level of food; it will absolutely get the job done (trust me!) but won't leave you super happy. If you're looking for something that is better than average, Yum Yum is the answer. I personally like the one on George 4th Bridge, but the other one (which I've only been to in a fog, couldn't tell you the address) was also quite good. The guys running the place got to know us over the week we were there (good thing?...not sure lol), and were very friendly every time we showed up. Walking in, you won't find a lot of space to sit, which was A-OK with us, as we were on our way home every time we stopped by*. The place next door (painted red, can't remember the name), is huge and also smells heavenly...but the guys are rude, the food is meh, and the extra seating allows youths to sit/loiter for extended periods of time (thanks, but no thanks). Speaking of food, Yum Yum is spot on. I recommend the Donner and chips, but the pizza is good, as are the pies and fish. Seriously, you can't get hurt at Yum Yum** If you find yourself out past last call in this amazing city, and need some Donner to soak up some of the party you just drank down, look to Yum Yum for the hook up. _______________________________________________ *Just a side note; chip shops like this should only be visited in the wee hours of the morning, if this is your main stop for lunch you're doing Edinburgh wrong. **This is a lie, if you eat here too often you will most definitely die of a heart attack...but hey we only live once right?

Big wraps. Falafel and shawarma were good, could have used a few less onions. Portion was huge.

A good solid 4 stars for carryout falafel wraps after a long day of sightseeing. Just like the name says, yum.

Oh my goodness, that looks absolutely delicious! That's quite the meal, a perfect balance of carbs,…read moreprotein, and veggies, which is something I admire.

One evening in Berkeley, California, out to dinner with some friends at a Korean restaurant, I…read moreshared that I was heading to Scotland in July of 2019 and asked if anybody had been and had any recommendations for places to go. Probing why I was going a little, they got out of me I am of the Gordon Clan of Aberdeenshire, a Scotland of Old clan. One of my friends exclaimed, "Gordon!" He paused, looked me directly in the eyes and said, "You know we're rivals right?!" He is Nate James Lindsey. A member of the Lindsey Clan, one of the Gordon Clan's rival clans in Scotland of Old. Once we addressed our rival ancestries, he recommended to me The Baked Potato Shop in Edinburgh, the city I was flying into/out of for my first trip not only to Scotland, but to Europe as well. Well, I might as well go I thought, how bad can a rival clan recommendation be. The night I arrived in Edinburgh, 5 July 2019, I entered The Baked Potato Shop and was greeted by a friendly worker. After looking over the menu, I went with a baked potato loaded with vegan chilli and vegan Macsween haggis. After placing my order, paying, and getting the baked potato I thought the only thing missing from my first ever evening in Scotland was bagpipe music. No sooner had I thought that than I heard the sounds of bagpipes wafting across the cobbled lane out front of the Shop. Across the cobbled lane I went, lured by the wail of the bagpipes. After listening for a bit and providing a tip I returned to the guest house I was staying the night at. The food was delicious and filled my travel-tired belly. The haggis was the first I had of any kind, vegan or non-vegan, and it was an immediate favorite. Offset from my departure time zone by 8 hours, I went to sleep soon after eating. I woke up early the next morning ready to go. Turns out the baked potato and toppings cured my jet lag in less than 24 hours, quite remarkable. What a way to end my first day in Scotland, a recommendation from a member of a rival Scotland of Old clan yields tasty food. I will however note that I am also of Irish descent, so I am still not sure what to make of the recommendation in light of the Irish Potato Famine... Ahhh, Scotland of Old lives on.
