My husband and I stopped in, first time. Staff was friendly and helped us understand the menu options. We both enjoyed our chicken choices, the sauces, the salad, fries and garlic bread. I recommend. I've never been here but I've heard of Nandos and wanted to try something similar. They specialize in chicken dishes. I ordered the maestros peri half chicken with two sides (peri fries and a garden salad). Got my order in a reasonable amount of time. They have no servers... the owners take your orders at the front and bring you the food to your table once it's ready. My order was delicious! Chicken was juicy, fries had a Cajun flavour to it, and the salad... well was a salad. The members of my party ordered the rice with their chicken. It basically tastes like uncle ben's yellow rice, not saying it's bad, but that's what it reminds me of. The "peri" flavour tastes like Italian dressing and increases in heat when you go up the hot levels. The restaurant's decor had an African ambience to it and made you feel like you were in west Africa. I definitely recommend if you are a fan of chicken and would like to try a different twist to roast chicken! read more

Hey, look a new resto in the NW that I've driven by a few times. ED excited to try this place. You go to the counter to order then seated by a hostess where they'll bring the order to the table. The seats are roomy and there's two large TV's playing news and sports. Gave the chicken sandwich with peri fries a try with very peri sauce. You can choose your heat level and I decided to go safe with medium heat. The portion size is very good with a large bowl of fries. The very peri sauce was enough to make my nose sweat and run. Overall, the service is friendly but nothing lures me to return. I felt that this was no different than a fast food place with better decor. Think of an A&W that serves chicken and fries. They also have burgers. I'd choose Popeyes Louisiana chicken over this place. There's nothing wrong here but I found the sandwich to be nothing more than what I expect from a fast food foil wrapper. Perhaps it was the item I ordered that left me unsatisfied. read more

Great place to eat for the whole family. Lots of options. The portions are large and food was delicious. Don't bother going to Nandos, this place is way better. We have gone in a small group and a larger group, service was good both times. On busy nights they don't take reservations so you may have to wait for a table. When you go try the chicken: legs, thigh or breast, that is their speciality. Don't bother with the chicken sandwich. read more

Awesome place to eat, good crew, clean restaurant. Food was really good actually similar to Namdos or may be better.

Had high hopes for this restaurant. The NW Calgary really needs more different, non chain type restaurants. Unfortunately this place did not deliver. I expected to have moist chicken with an amazing ethic favour. What I got was overly cooked (almost burnt) extremely dry chicken with an awful tasting sauce slapped on top. I'd hate to even say it, but KFC would do better chicken. Argh!! The only positive. The service was very friendly and prompt. Unfortunately it does not make up for the food. Maybe it was an off day, maybe I got the last of the batch that had been sitting on the grille far too long. I don't know. I do know, I won't be going back to find out. read more

This location has more to offer. Most Importantly they have desserts, the other location is always on back order when it comes to dessert. Much cleaner location and also there is more variety on the menu which is ironic because it's a franchise. On the whole sage hill location has more variety on the menu and also the service is faster. read more

The service is always good at this place. Would have given it more stars but lately the quality of their food has been declining. Twice we ordered for pick up and their chicken was almost raw (how can you under or overcook chicken?) and when you order take out, they try to bunch in 2 orders into 1 box.Once they get it right, it's very good. The food was okay. The service HORRIBLE. I was a bit late to pick my order because I came from out of city and the lady there kept calling non stop to come pick it up. Then she gave my phone number to someone else who called me from a private number and told me that I should pick up my phone and should not have given my phone number if im not going pick and proceeded to call me a "no life". Delicious! This is a great addition to the NW. Good location, lots of parking. The restaurant is nicely decorated and spacious. The menu has an excellent variety of chicken dishes, truly something for everyone, including the kids. The staff were friendly and very helpful and patient answering all our questions. When this place first opened it was phenomenal - the owner/manager (the man with glasses) was polite, the portions were generous and food was delicious. But it seems as if it going downhill the past few months and we keep giving it a chance. The owner/manager is just plain rude now. I was looking at the menu to order and he kept asking me what I wanted (in a rude way) even after I said I needed a minute. He needs to put a smile on his face for better customer service rather than acting annoyed. The portions have gradually decreased to much smaller portion sizes that are definitely not worth it especially compared to before. The food tastes good but its just not worth the disappointment anymore. read more

Food is good, except they are super stingy with the cheese. They make you pay for it on top of getting our wraps. Both times we've ordered, there wasn't even any cheese in there, like it's a priceless commodity. Brought it up to staff and was ignored, girl at the till just rolled her eyes. So will be looking elsewhere for dinner in sage hill. Thanks for ruining our experience over cheese.. ugh read more

The restaurant is clean and the menu seemed nice. However, I tried so hard to find some taste in the chicken but failed. Ended up dipping the chicken in ketchup for it to be bearable enough to be swallowed. My constructive feedback would be to add flavour to the chicken not just boil chicken by itself and serve it with food. The customer service was a bit unfriendly, as I was afraid to ask the guy at the counter anything. read more
