The reason I give this place two stars is because although the hotel itself is quite beautiful - the sea view room we booked had the ambience of a tacky love hotel in Thailand.
The floors are all cream colored tiles, the same in the bedroom and the bathroom. No matter if the cleaning lady cleaned everything, they were always sticky. The icky feeling under my feet made me want to stay out of the room all the time and hence it was a waste that we booked a sea view room.
The furniture inside looks like a twice handed down Ikea furniture of a broke college student. So for a couple, it doesn't feel like a romantic getaway. Even Holiday Inn which is basically the McDonald's of hotels, has better ambience than rooms here.
The bathroom and toilet are combined which is a personal pet peeve of mine. If someone uses the toilet, the whole bathroom stinks up because there are no windows for ventilation.
The toilet didn't flush properly, ew.. The hotel couldn't do anything about it because it was flushing minimally enough in their view.
The fridge didn't cool shit. It was barely breathing, the staff didn't help at all with that. In this heat, it was insufferable not to have cold drinks in the room.
There was no blanket in the room.
The cleaning staff was polite but the dining staff was very rude and obnoxious. The receptionists were mixed - some were helpful and some not, some rude and some kind.
The food is abhorrent. The most basic breakfast ever - salami, croissants, baked beans, some different types of bread and butter. Not at all at par with the 4 star status of the hotel itself. The lunch and dinner were sad, bland and good if you are on a stomach flu diet.
Now for the good parts - The hotel is situated really well. Not far from many good markets and supermarkets of different kinds are scattered around it. The view is breathtaking from all of the hotel dining and pool area.
The pool bar staff if cool. There are swimming pools of different depths and I saw people of all ages having a great time. This relaxing area pretty large so it never feels crowded even though many people are there.
There are natural rocks and plants included in the architecture of the hotel which gives it a nice look. Pretty ironic that the rooms themselves were so pathetic. I wish they had put as much efforts in the decoration of the rooms as they did for the pool area.
I would still recommned this place for its amazing location, its views and fun pool time. However, if you're going to spend a lot of time indoors and eat at the hotel - this place is not for you. I'd only suggest it if you do what we did - always eat outside and stay in the room as little as possible because the rooms are not comfy. read more
