Quite a large Barclays Bank on the high street in High Wycombe. There are several cash machines outside and quite a few cashier desks. As it's town centre it doesn't have it's own parking but there is ample within a few minutes walk. read more

I have been with this bank (I actually joined when it was a building society) for 20 years! Yikes!!…read moreSadly, it is one of the worst banks since all the changes took place and it declared its own promotion to becoming a bank. The branch on our High Street in High Wycombe is terrible. It never keep to opening times which vary according to the weather - as in have the rain storms caused massive damage on the electrical wires visible from the bank floor,is the rain the reason for water bucket along the floor put there to catch raindrops in the bank, and is the only key holder running late because of snow on the tracks! It could be anything and everything so getting to the front door before 9 a.m. doesn't mean you'll be inside the bank early. The cash point machines are usually covered with grime and evidently haven't been cleaned in months (so wash your hands afterwards - I always go with sanitisers) and the machine outside is always covered in all sorts of human waste!Nobody will wash it off so you either use it like that or bugger offWhy bother? Most weekends the dispenser is void of cash anyway! (Need I be specific)?. No!! The front reception desk is always unmanned and customers are left waiting for ages while the girls chat and pretend one is invisible. Terrible customer services. Good branches I can highly recommend are: Marlow High St, Victoria Street, Manchester High Street, and Stratford London branches. Also most in Central London including High Holborn.

I cant exactly say that they have ever rewarded me for being so loyal to them, which is why recently I have decided to move my money around to different banks. However I have to say that since moving the money I have realised that there are many worse banks out there. I guess for me I want there to be someone at the end of the phone that knows what they are talking about and can be as helpful as possible. And also to be able to go into the branch and actually speak to someone without having to wait for half an hour. And Nationwide seems to tick these boxes.
