It is pretty much an average bank, by all means, open weekdays (Shame this bank doesn't have weekend openings at all!). The bank's floor is a satisfactory size with some basic banking machines to conduct banking activities and two separate counters (confusing?) if you have a more complex issue or need a personalised approach, the staff seemed friendly and happy to help. The opening hours aren't great, the bank shuts early than most other banks I'm used to at 4:30 pm, and of course the fact they close on weekends isn't too great either. I did like how the store had an upper floor including a balcony, I presume this is down to it being a listed building and I saw no sign of this part of the building being used, perhaps it's for a staff area, business banking or something? A decent bank, it does have letdowns including having two counters which can get a little confusing and messy, and the opening hours but convenient in its' location, considering it is a short walk away from the Green Park end of Piccadilly (as I recall the nearest other banks where there are a Santander and Metro Bank) 3*

The branch is usually open until 16:30 during the week and closed at weekends, so the opening hours are average but could be much better. It looks nice inside, there is a fair number of ATM's that allow you to process basic banking services as well as pay in and withdraw money, of the same style you find in the majority of Nationwide branches. They did appear to be a little understaffed, with no one greeting customers at the entrance, and it did take a while to get served, even though they weren't too busy. A modern branch of Nationwide in a fairly new, modern part of Westfield Stratford City…read more I'll start as I do with any bank by talking about the opening hours, with a cash machine outside on "The Street" part of the mall, that means even if you're shopping late you can still have some banking services, but even better - they're also open on a Sunday with staff inside so you can use the more advanced and in-depth machines inside, the staff seemed pretty friendly too, the only flaw being despite being open 12-6 on Sunday, they don't offer a counter-service. Every other day they open between 10 am (later than average) and 6 pm, opening half an hour later on Wednesday's which is average/reasonable, as they seem to make up for opening later by closing later. Perhaps adding another outside cash machine would be good especially for the location, they certainly do need to fix the automatic doors too, as at the moment the bank seems a little unwelcoming and I even thought it was closed at first. Decent, average modern bank, although there are many rivals nearby this is an average bank, and one of the better ones in the mall (I'm calling Nationwide a bank by habit when it is infact a building society) 3*

From the outside, the bank really does stand out, it is cool and beautiful with modern bricks. Inside and outside the store has a good amount of cash machines and newer ATM's where you can do most of your banking activities, and they also have a counter service too. The bank also has slight twists in the decor which are pretty cool and modern to emphasise the location in Westminster, London such as Big Ben engraded into the wall where some of the banking machines are. The staff didn't seem too friendly or welcoming, albeit this is common for London, it again is a shame to see. This is probably one of the bigger and better banks in Central London, compared to other banks nearby this is vastly superior of which does warrant a four-star rating.

Metro Bank on Piccadilly is a fairly unique and new bank - walking in you'd think it is some sort…read moreof high-end offices or a casino with no cash machine in direct sight. It is located on Piccadilly opposite Green Park station fairly close to other banks - HSBC and Santander. This is mainly somewhere you'd only visit if you are a Metro Bank customer, compared to calling into the closest bank just to use the ATM. The opening hours are common for Metro, much better than most other banks in the UK between 8 am and 8 pm, closing two hours earlier on Saturday and then OPENING ON Sunday's between 11 and 5, basically as long as the shops are generally open, Metro Banks like this one are - a general rule of thumb with the bank expanding across the UK. I came in here to enquire about joining an account - the whole concept excites me especially with Metro expanding closer back to Manchester where I live at the end of the year - I was told how easy it was, the staff member I spoke to seemed really friendly and helpful and open to answering any questions. The slightly confusing layout at first and not having a great number of cash machines let the branch down - if it wasn't for the opening hours and great staff it'd be a disaster but still it is average in most factors, above average in the positives mentioned to warrant a high three-star rating.
