This optical company is the lowest form of optical care you can ever find in Peoria for people looking for a long-term solution to diabetes eye exam and patient care. They will actually tell you they don't have the competent O.D. Doctors who can see a large volume of diabetic patients. I have tried to get a diabetic eye exam for the last two years with them always telling me they have zero open appointments or not enough qualified doctors to see me. The last doctor I saw is Nicole Jensen who is still there yet apparently is no longer readily qualified. Good luck. Bard Optical is going to be sued by a lot of patients. read more

I went to bard optical when I moved Peoria last year. They don't answer their phones, and they don't call back when you leave a message. I had an appointment scheduled late in the afternoon and checked the portal that morning. I showed up at the time the portal said and they informed me that my appointment was 20 minutes before what it said on the portal and the doctor refused to see me. Spend your dollars somewhere that gives better service to their patients. read more

They have my loyalty. I had Molly who's very insightful; great suggestions and helped me find glasses and I am so pleased with the service. My glasses will be available 1-2wks, my purchase came with a pair of free prescription sunglasses and you can get a second pair for 50% off. They take Medicare. To find providers who cover state insurance is very limited. So I'm grateful I found a Bard Optical and found super cool and fun glasses I will enjoy wearing with great selection and with such great service. It was more than what I expected. They intentionally misrepresented themselves in order to get my business and tried to overcharge me by 55.00. I called to verify that they were in my network for insurance and to set up an appointment if they were. They confirmed my plan was in network and the appointment was made. The appointment did not start on time and than they had a trainee do the initial testing on my eyes with someone coming in and out of the room to check on her a few times. Once the exam was done and I got my prescription for glasses I went over my coverage and found that I had 120.00 for frames and 190.00 for lens. I picked out frames and glasses and the cost above my coverage was almost 300.00, that meant that they were trying to convince me these glasses before coverage were over 600.00. (Similar glasses at Costco under 250.00 without any insurance coverage). Additionally, Bard indicated that I had a copay on the lens of 55.00 as well although I knew my policy did not have a copay. Needless to say I did not buy the glasses there. It seemed like something wasn't right so I went to the Bard in the Metro Center and learned when they looked up my coverage that I did not have a copay of 55.00. The manager advised that they were not a network provider like I was told so they were telling me I had a copay in order to cover the difference in coverage as they were out of network. I requested a manager call me to discuss this matter and I have left several messages for their VP Mick Hall over the last 3 days without a response. Watch out they will steal you blind. read more

Ok,first off....I am a grouchy old man (64)!....I needed glasses because mine were stolen 8 yes ago. I know.....I know! Well, I had gotten those at Bards in the metro center and they served me well until they were swiped outta my car. So I figured I will go back.I am so glad I did! I was greeted by the lovely Melissa, and she helped me fill out the papers and get the ball rolling.She also did some pre-exam stuff before Dr.Jackson saw me.Then I was escorted by Dr. Jackson back to the exam room and was given a battery of eye tests to determine my new prescription. This was done very efficiently and painlessly. They don't puff that air in your eyes anymore for glaucoma testing and that was nice.Dr.Jacksons chair side manner is exemplary and VERY friendly!!! He is definitely a consummate professional and it shows!!! I can't wait to get my new glasses and start seeing everything I have been missing!!!! Thank you so much Melissa and Dr.Jackson !!!
