I saw the great reviews here for Chinook Bottle Depot and thought I'd check them out. The first thing I noticed is how quiet the machines were-no yelling to talk to the attendant. She gave me the exact amount for my bottles! And no line-ups! The second time I went, a man working there came out, brought a cart to my car, and helped me fill it up w/ my bottles. I've NEVER had this happen at any other depot. They have earned my patronage, and I will be driving the extra km to come here! Very impressed :)

This is my first trip to any kind of recycling center; the condo I live in does have recycling and I usually just do it there. But, my friend stated I can get a nice amount change and this place is close to where I live. it was Sunday; I was bored. In any event, away we went. Turns out, I had just over $10 worth of stuff including aluminum cans, glass bottles, plastic bottles. They also recycle cardboard but I don't think you get paid for that but since I had all my recyclables sorted in boxes, it made sense to leave the boxes there. They do have a sink and soap that you can wash your hands after you have dropped off your items. From their website, they state "We also accept unlimited house hold paints and pay top dollar for your scrap metals (excluding steel). We pay full deposit on all non-alcoholic containers, wine , spirits and imported beer bottles." Note, they do not recycle plastic bottles from oil or gas; you can allegedly take those to most gas stations. The staff was not all the friendly but civil and efficient. Again, this is my first trip to such a center, first to this location, and it was a Sunday. They were not rude by any means. They are open Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm 8am to 5pm on Sundays and holidays.

If you use this depot, be sure to know how many items you are taking in. I won't be returning to this place. Not sure if it was dishonesty, or machine malfunction. Not acceptable in either case, and the attendant must have realized there were many more items than 86.
