Lovely specialized craft beer bar & shop in the centre of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. I just visited…read morelast Monday - there were a dozen keg beers, a couple of handpumped ales and many more national & international bottled and canned craft beers available - something for everyone! The friendly staff recommended several cans and a keg beer to me (American style PAs and a Porter), and they were all excellent. Prices are moderate, and you can buy a keg or handpumped ale in 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 or full pint. There aren't very many craft beer bars in this town - this seems to be the best of them. It's just a short walk e.g. from the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Stoke's only real tourist attraction. Highly recommended!

They don't stock big brands but their cheap alternatives are top quality and I would really recommend giving it a try.

The store itself is of a good size, has a wide range of groceries, some are well known brands others are not english brands, and can take some working out, glad there are pictures on the products. The store has a fiar size fruit and veg section which is very good in price and certainly knocks spots off the competatiors. One negative I found was lack of staff on the shop floor as I came across a few items that were not priced and did not want to wait to the till point before asking. The staff at the till are friendly and helpful.

For me the drive to the nearest Waitrose (this one) is 20 miles but worth it. Think we decided yesterday to do our routine shop at Sainsbury's as usual but make a trip to Waitrose for a special shop once every 2 or 3 weeks. Their flowers (a must for Mrs G) are great quality and well tended. Nice touch - as you check out they ask if you want special wrapping (which I gather was free of charge) also back at my care a young man comes over to take care of my cart. The fruit, veg, cheese, fish, meat all fresh, excellent and well presented. To be honest the bakery could do with improvement. That said - you can't go wrong at this lovely Waitrose!
