TODAY, in the year 2026, I can tell you that this is NOT the reasonable "THRIFT" store they used to be and they use Christianity as a front for simple GREED and explotation of customers........ The new manager "Ashley", who was fired from the old Youth Challenge Thrift Store in Hilton, that has since moved to Williamsburg, for "money continually coming up short". But, amazingly, TROY, the manager from the main office, hired her after she got fired, and they both have quite a scam going with ridiculously high prices on everything looking up items on their "phones" and putting the first jacked up price someone "wanted" for an item, but didn't sell......from years ago ads.... But, the clincher is "CROOKED TROY" has gotten mean and nasty with customers when they question the ripoff prices displaying a nasty attitude instead of being professional, but he is a "Christian'??...Yeah, right! He fired the former manager "SHAWN", for absolutly NO reason. Shawn was nice and put fair prices on items, but TROY did this just to hire "CROOKED ASHLEY".. I wonder how they can afford their nice cars they drive?......Former employees have told customers that TROY and ASHLEY have a nice racket going on manipulating the "financials", if you know what I mean, and have been doing so for quite awhile, and The Rescue Mission "BOARD", Administrators and CEO do NOT know about this!......Maybe, they should!!.......They both are getting RICH, while the people, who are supposed to be helped, and honest customers, get gouged and taken advantage of. Again, this is NOT the fair, nice thrift store of the past.....It is now just an overpriced, embarassing, disgusting and crooked business, using religion to fleece customers.........Go look at the prices for yourself! They sell donated furniture and home goods, as well as jewelry, books, and games. Profits benefit a local Christian school. Because their inventory turns over so quickly and they get new items constantly, they can't hold items longer than COB that day. Each week they have sales on different items so it's helpful to check their Facebook page. The staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are very good. Parking is free Ave right out front.

I was browsing the books and suddenly the fluffiest floof of a cat came wandering up. She was very friendly and sweet. Later we talked to an employee who said the cat is named Serena and is one of 40+ feral cats that they take care of. They got them all fixed and continue feeding them behind the store. If you donate $5+ towards feeding the kitties, you get a 20% off coupon! As for the shopping itself, I was impressed by the prices. I got a fabulous vintage suitcase for $5, and several books for under $5! Literally my only complaint was that they wrote the price of a vintage antique book ON THE COVER of said book. OOF. When I checked out, someone else pointed out that denim was excluded. 99% of the shorts in my size we're denim. I'm sure it was an honest mistake and I still got half off, so price wasn't an issue.....it just seemed a little picky to have a list of exclusions to a summer sale. I was in this antique mall for HOURS and didn't even realize it. The mall is well organized and all of the employees were friendly. We found something within in five minutes of entering the mall. Hours later we were still adding to our purchase pile. The antique mall is organized in rows. I was impressed with their customer service system. Each row has a call button. You hit the button when you need assistance (ex: a cabinet opened or a question) and someone will come directly to you. My wait was short each time that I hit the call button. Again, I was impressed because this place is huge. The amount of antique items was overwhelming interesting. I saw toys from my childhood, a large collection of Hallmark ornaments, paintings, books and a lamp that I immediately fell in love with (see pic). I HIGHLY recommend setting aside a few hours to visit this antique mall whenever you are in Williamsburg. You will not be disappointed.

I say this after numerous visits to this particular DAV store and have seen long term consistency. I found it always clean and nicely organized, with a great selection. A large amount of adult men's and woman's clothing, as well as a nice amount of children clothing. It also has a decent amount of used books, for you bookworms. You can also find a lot of seasonal/holiday bric and brac items. I will also say that the staff have always been very nice. One thing I will also mention is that the fitting rooms have been closed for a long time (during COVID) and appear they don't intend to open them again. My guess is the COVID mess or theft are the reason. This is a bit inconvenient. Now for value. Of course you save by shopping at these places and supposedly profits go to a great cause. Exploring from one room to another checking out so many treasures. Pricing I pretty reasonable in so many of the booths. There are times that I just get discouraged when prices are so high that I just never return. I'm always looking for the next treasure. The staff were so kind and welcoming. We were greeted warmly when we walked in.
